Royal Cuisine Takeaways & Restaurant — Restaurant in Maungakiekie-Tāmaki

This was by far the WORST experience I've had with a takeaway restaurant. I placed an order at 6:35pm and received a confirmation that my delivery would arrive at 7:40pm. This seemed like a long wait but I understood they may be busy. After waiting until 8pm, I realized I hadn't received my order. I called but got no answer. It was now 8:20pm and I had called at least 5 times with no response and no follow up from the driver that my order would be delayed. I then had a friend call who got through right away and was told my order was delayed due to the driver having to turn around...and that my order should arrive within the next 15 minutes. At 8:40pm, an hour past the delivery time, the driver, (who just so happens to be the owner) shows up very unapologetic and when I attempted to explain what has happened he told me to put in a complaint through menulog. At this point I was upset but not entirely angry until I went in the house and realized I received the wrong order! I called back and spoke to the driver/owner to tell him I got the wrong order and would like a refund...and was told that if I was unhappy I needed to make a complaint through Menulog. Then to make matters worse, he hung up on me!This is when I became livid and decided to go up to the restaurant. I could not believe that I was treated this way after trying to cordially rectify the situation. The least the owner could have done was apologize and fix the order. Instead, I was told that I would receive a refund and not to come back. I told the owner I would never come back and this whole situation...

My bad experience started 5.30 pm Sunday 5th November 2017. My partner and i have lived in One Tree Hill for the past six years, we hadn't been to this take away before and don't know of anyone that has. That is why i am writing this to warn others. We ordered Chicken and cashew nuts and asked for a fried rice with no meat. The lady replied they dont do that without meat, we replied ok could we have the small please.My wife paid we waited 7 minutes for it and headed home to eat. On opening the packs, the food looked terrible and a very strong smell of garlic , the meat in the combination fried rice was inedible.Be careful when ordering the fried rice there are 2 sizes med or large she automatically charged for a large.This meal was very poor value and very unappetizing and a rip off being charged $31.00...

One thing I don't recommend is the sweet and sour pork....because it's not your $8 worth because they don't even fill it, and 3/4 of it is just the white rice!!! And the majority of it is veges!!! This isn't the restaurant it used to be before them, and today it was 2:50pm and they close at 3rd, so I was like oh I just want some chips it won't take that long...got there at 2:51pm and they already had their sign out saying that it will re-open!!!
