Everything about this place is amazing. It is really busy on saturdays and sundays, you can reserve a table in advance if you want to go on those days. The service is wonderful, lovely people. The food is presented beautifully every time without fail and it is gorgeous to eat. It epitomizes the phrase "something for everyone" as I've brought them all manner of picky eaters, habitually bringing all our visitors here, the food and staff just make people smile. The coffee is so delicious and I've tried quite a few cafes in the area but we keep coming back. It's where we go for birthday breakfasts, special dates and we are always glad we went. They have tables outside if you want to bring your dog and they're happy to bring some water out for them. Very child friendly and staff always happy to help you get set up and have a little chat with children of all sizes. Your water glass will be refilled by a smiling staff member throughout your visit. Must trys are the french toast, bacon bagel, the eggs benedict (any variety), the creamy mushroom, the beef and chorizo bao burger (I never usually go for bao buns but this was pretty great) stunning kumara wedges and the specials are always something magical, they do pasta really well and honestly it's just a stylish, clean eatery that has quickly become my favourite place...
Read moreNice cosy little place, interior was bright and nicely designed, tables and chairs were all in order and aligned nicely. Staffs were friendly, passionate. Sizable menu, most of what can be seen in a breakfast cafe or brunch type restaurant.
Ordered a Passion fruit Cheese Cake, Seafood Chowder and a Hapuka Filo, food were excellent, wife said chowder a bit too salty but I felt fine. Highlight was in the Hapuka Filo, the entire filo was filled with packed Hapuka and Scallops, flavoury and very satisfying.
One thing to note: My seafood chowder, was at the end, contained a small piece of sellotape, initially I thought it was a squid backbone and I went through the effort of licking it to perfection, then I realized it was a tape filled with tiny black threads which seem to be the residue of a carton box. However, the restaurant handling the situation very well, they apologized immediately, the payment for chowder was waived, and they promised to take extra care in handling food in the future. This is the kind of attitude a customer service profession needs to strive.
5 Stars for the restaurant, food...
Read moreWe have been here a few times, the food was good in the past. But this time it was a real disappointment.
Smoothies are not real fruit smoothie. We ordered the mango one, tasted like the powdered smoothie that you get from big chain cafes like the coffee club.
The salmon bowl was the one that really disappointed us. It was $27 & we were served 5 small cubes of salmon & two slice of avocado. It claimed to be marinated but it’s just raw cut salmon in soy sauce.
There is no garnish or sauce for the salmon bowl, all the salad do not go together. The grilled tofu tasted just like pre-made, doesn’t have any flavours. All ingredients just been put together like a bad homemade meal. For $27, I would at least expect this to taste like a mall Poke bowl. But this is easily the worst salmon bowl I have ever had. I hate to be a Karen but this dish should not be on a cafe menu or needs improvement.
On a good note, the staff are very friendly.
