Tok Tok Greenlane — Restaurant in Maungakiekie-Tāmaki

Was meeting a friend after years. Decided to invite her for an experience of food and environment. Table was reserved for 530. It was next to a table who were happy and loud. Asked if I could be moved to another table to enjoy the conversation. I was refused because it was fully booked. However all tables were empty till I left from there. Further more was shockin when I was charged for the drinks I hadn't ordered. ( next table's) I didn't want to make a drama in front of a friend who I was seeing after long time hence decided to investigate afterwards and discovered unfairly charged. Phoned the restaurant who admitted their mistake and asked to come back for refund. I was busy over the weekend they were close on Monday hence went on Tuesday ( took time off from work) got money returned but no compensation. When asked the guy said sorry we are struggling and can't give any compensation. I will never go...

Service was basic, not what would you expect for the price of dishes, we had the set menu for $75pp and others opted for the $65pp menu… in all honestly it is not worth it at all! The plates are shared instead of everyone getting their own dish, there is basically enough for each person to have one bite of every dish.

We sat in certain sections so it was easy for the waiters to tell which menu to give to which group and they still got the order wrong. despite all this, they charged us 15% more of the overall bill cause it was Matariki yet this was not disclosed when the booking was made (two weeks prior or in the email threads in preparation of organising the dinner) it would of been nice to be advised in ADVANCE. Had mother's day dinner there and was amazing! Ordered lamb bites, duck salad, shaking beef, wagyu beef cheek curry, sweet n sour pork belly and duck fried rice; the shaking beef and fried rice are the best we have had from any south-east Asian restaurants! Beef was so tender and fried rice was so fragrant and flavoursome,YUM!! Then we finished on a high note with their Vietnamese espresso martini, the foam was so silky smooth and the coffee was off the chart! They are definitely one of my fav restaurants in Auckland and not to mention they are dog friendly too! Always adds a few bonus points when they allow my pup in the restaurant lol!
