Four of came here for dinner and as usual, Mexico did not disappoint! Some people tell me that Mexico is too mainstream but I cannot say no to a taco from here! We ordered the five spiced duck leg taco, esquites, Mexico fried chicken, the slow cooked lamb shoulder quesadilla and three taco Tuesday specials (a fried chicken or fried cauliflower taco with a margarita for $14) - everyone in our group got the fried chicken 🍗 The lamb quesadilla was out of this world, we all loved it and my duck taco was amazing - they did not skimp on the duck either! If you want to try I’d recommend heading in ASAP, Mexico changes their menu seasonally and I don’t remember seeing a duck taco on the menu ever before! Try one of the margaritas or one of the sugar free sofas, I didn’t have one this time but they never disappoint. My only complaint is that one of the staff members seemed so bored and we could hardly hear her. We also asked for extra tortillas with our esquitas (I ask for this each time and it’s never an issue, I just pay an extra charge), our server said he would ask but never got back to us and we did not get the extra tortilla :(

Mexico. A star in the Mexican food market. What a great experience. The service is good. The food is great. The drink options are plentiful. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing. I love all the artwork on the walls, always something cool to look at. Try the fried chicken and you'll order it for every visit like I do. I must say I love the crispy soft-shell crab taco too. A great selection of margaritas to choose from but also you can't go wrong with a Corona. If you like corn then you'll love the esquites. I guess my only complaint would be that it seems that every time I visit they are out of guacamole, whether it is poor planning or it's so good they run out, either way it's still disappointing. Over all, highly recommended...

I live closeby for a year, but never walked in. It's my first encounter of Mexician food. I love it! The exotic decoration, interesting ways of cooking but devilishly delicious. My pork belly tace was not the crispy type expected, but the cubes and sides make a little feast. I love the fried chicken, albeit not at my level of hotness. The guacamole and totopus are equally lovely. The ambulance is kid-, family- and group- friendly, Almost full at 1pm Sunday. Waiters are always busy, Plenty of parking diagonally across. Since it is a cushioned cultural shock, I google why Mexicans like skulls and skeletons, and like the answer: "they are gentle reminders that life is temporary, and death is certain."

Have come here a few times as is near to my work. Usually on a Friday night in a group, this time on Saturday night. Came here an hour and a half early so ended up going home again, oops. Came back at right time and they remembered me and greeted me and showed me my table.

Such a good spot, not as crazy busy as other Mexico restaurants (especially Takapuna) but still the awesome food you come to expect (I have been more than a handful of times over the years).

Pretty sure any spot is great here, although one of the big tables inside under the big air con, there was a slight drip at one point and it dropped on me. When I asked they said it was just water and they were looking into which was weird because they didn't warn those of us there. Although, that group had been there before, so perhaps they assumed we were aware. Not sure if it is fixed now, forgot to ask.

Food: I had a chicken cola taco, which was amazing. Everyone loved their quesadillas. The chicken is a fav with my workmates too.

Drinks were good. Most of us had a non alc blood orange soda. Didn't have a margarita at this particular place, but if the staff are trained like the others, they won't disappoint either. Fresh and good. Yum. Drink was Sugar free too.

Staff were super chill, pretty onto it, friendly, having a few laughs out the back but always seemed on the ball.

VIBE: I always love the vibe. People I were with said it had sort of a homey vibe. It has that upbeat but homey vibe, a cross between a pub, takeaways and a restaurant.

Music: I loved the old school 90s-2000s mainstream-but-not-overplayed-mainstream soundtrack, with a few Post Malone thrown in food good measure (think one of the staff had a...

Mexico used to be my favourite restaurant. Always had a vibe and service was quick and the food always came out in good time and fresh and delicious.

I don’t know what has happened. Service, whilst friendly enough, was incredibly slow, we waited a long time to even have drinks order taken when we arrived. We didn’t appear to have a specific server as a couple of people were taking our orders, when the other already had. Drinks took an age to come out.

The food. Average at best. The potatoes were cold when they came out and overall the food lacked the finesse it used to have. The chicken, however, was up to old standard.

The cost of living has sky rocketed - so too has the cost of drinks. $18 for a margarita full of ice. Whilst tasty - there is no way there was enough in it to warrant that price.

We were seated right in front of the kitchen, which was a weird seating arrangement in itself - our table looked directly into it, whilst somewhat private, it cut us off from the ambience of the rest of the restaurant. We could see that the kitchen was overrun with orders and the tussle to keep up and keep everything in order. I did wonder if this would affect the quality of the food being served. It really did.

It’s a shame to have such an average experience after coming to Mexico, in various locations across Auckland, all these years. I’m not sure if it has changed ownership but something is amiss from what it used to be. I hope the other franchises aren’t...

I don’t usually write reviews but I have to this time!

Dined here on Wednesday (12/6) and I have to say, best customer service I’ve ever had. Big shout out to our waiter! Didn’t quite catch your name but I’ll always remember your glasses!

My friends and I arrived around 6:30pm. We were greeted by a man- who seemed to be the manager- he was friendly enough but I didn’t expect anything exciting, Especially due to seeing the rough ages of the staff around.

All of that changed.

Our waiter came over, dropped off some water, rattled off the specials and to my amazement was curious as to how our day was and if we’d eaten at a Mexico restaurant before. It was our first time. This young man took the time to sit down in the empty seat at our table and explain how everything worked. Even though he looked like he was run off his feet. He then gave us a few moments to digest all the information and came back to take our orders. Not long after our food arrived he checked on us a few times and made sure we were happy. We always had drinks on hand ;) and the food was just as amazing!

We left feeling as though our night couldn’t have been any better. We had genuine service from someone who felt human, good food and positive vibes.I hadn’t seen my friends in so long and to have had the experience we did really made it worthwhile. So thank you so much Mexico and to our lovely waiter. I’ll definitely be back! You guys should be so proud...
