Looks like I don't go to Zambrero anymore 🤷 13/03/25 7:10pm Hadn't been to Zambrero since they closed the Glenfield store (last time I went was 06/23). Thought I'd treat myself to a burrito since I work pretty close to Mt Wgtn Zambrero and boy...it has to be a treat at these prices! Inflation...I know, but this is ridiculous. $20 for one burrito, but I bought it thinking 'maybe this is some magical burrito', but it wasn't. A few dollars more and I could get a pretty fancy burrito that would put this one to shame. Searching around for something other than a bite of tortilla and soggy rice was not a fun time. Composition and assembly was off, occasionally I was treated to one of the other toppings in a mouthful, but not often. I also tried to get my loyalty card clipped; the server told me that he wouldn't because my card hadn't been in use for 3 years, which is a lie, I last had it clipped in 06/23 when I gave an absolutely glowing review for their great work at Glenfield Zambrero ). He said that they renew them each year....I checked the card and there was nothing about expiry. He wouldn't put any extra clips in the new ticket he gave me, but he shouldn't have bothered giving me a loyalty card at all, because if this is the way it is run now....I lost my appetite for Zambrero and probably won't be taking a chance on them again. Too much risk of paying through the nose for tortilla and rice. Oh, all the soggy stodgy mouthfuls! Gotta find a new...
Read moreTo say that my experience at the Mt Wellington Zambrero was underwhelming would be an understatement. I ordered a classic vegan burrito and requested double beans and double rice instead of the spiced cauliflower. The "double beans" if you can call them beans, consisted of a measly single table spoon of spread with a couple visible beans in it. The tortilla also despite being placed on the hot press in front of me was cold and rubbery in comparison to similar items from Mad Mex and Mexicali. For this burrito consisting of the aforementioned "beans", white rice, salad and salsa I was charged an abhorrent $13.50. At your competitor Mexicali for the same price I can get a reasonable portion of real black beans, brown rice, jackfruit, salad, salsa and a warm, soft tortilla. The difference in value between this establishment and a Mexicali is too great for me to consider purchasing from Zambrero...
Read moreEdit: the reply by the owners is an outright lie and I’m one of many to complain about these portions that are well below what they say they are.
They put basically nothing in these burritos. Second time this has happened at this store. It’s a scam. Cost cutting. Nothing to do with Uber.
Outrageously TINY PORTIONS. Paid $30 for basically a tortilla with lettuce and rice, and a tiny bit of sauce. Tiny little paste of beans and chicken (and this was after paying for extra). Teaspoon of guacamole. A total joke.
Hardly anything in the burrito even when paying for extra! Outrageous and easily the worst burrito I’ve ever had. To top it off the food that I did very kindly receive was completely bland.
Ridiculous rip off. Will not be giving these SCAM artists my money again and if you are reading this I urge you not to either.
Seriously...
