I met colleagues here for coffee and have always enjoyed my experiences here, especially the gorgeous quirky guy at the counter. However today I was unfortunate enough to encounter the owner who is incredibly rude. My colleague had ordered the drink and to my dismay my large moccachino was served in a tall glass with no paper napkin to hold it with. I hate drinks served in glasses at the best of times - how are you supposed to hold them? So I went up and the owner asked if he could help. I told him my coffee had been served in a glass and asked for a paper napkin to hold it with. He told me not to come moaning to him and said that’s how they always serve them and that I should go somewhere else. I was taken aback and told him if I’d known that I wouldn’t have ordered it and asked if I could have a napkin. He stared at me and said “if you ask politely”. I don’t believe I’d been impolite at any point but dutifully said “please”. He handed me one and told me again to not come back. Don’t worry, I won’t be. The ‘service’ was rude and aggressive and the drink turned out to be only lukewarm. In this post-cyclone world there are plenty of other cafes with better service and products.
