I do a monthly Social Dinner group for around 25 people in our community who live with disabilities, we go to a different restaurant each time, and tonight our little group of around 15. came to The Rose. well the service got 100% from the guests and the food got 99% because (there was too much and too hot) lol. From the moment we all arrived, The smiles and the friendly bar staff taking time to take orders and names, it was smooth sailing/dining, and an enjoyable start to the night. The accessibility was well done, with both exits being wheelchair friendly, and even sitting inside (we had 2 wheelchair uses) and was still heaps of room, I will add the little ramp was just a bit step but the guys and yes ladies had fun coming down it lol, toilets were also accessible, best i've seen for accessibility in a local restaurant. The atmosphere was awesome and the guys loved playing pool and also some of us stayed for the Quiz night, which was a lot of fun. We will definitely be back, as the Guinness Pie and burgers were a huge hit. cost wise, it's very affordable, and the staff, did i mention them, no sooner were the plates empty then they were cleared, and the food came out so fast after ordering it, and all at once so we actually all got to eat at the same time, which is huge for us. the manager, well he was so welcoming and engaging and well the guys couldn't fault anything tonight. so im giving The Rose Irish Pub a 5 out of 5. well worth a pop in. would have put photos up, but we were having so much fun and enjoying our meals we forgot to take some, Next...
Read moreI am sorry but I think something has happened in the last wee while. I checked out the meals before I ordered to see what would be nice to have!! The Guinness pie did look to be a small portion as said in another review. the chicken curry looked to be something my mom would cook many many years ago with frozen veg , anyway I decided to have the sirloin steak with mushroom sauce…….. oh dear I actually had to scrape the mushroom sauce off because it was so bad. Definitely felt like it was almost out of a packet with extra salt and no identifiable mushrooms in sight, the chips were average. And the salad also was bad drenched if too much dressing I think to cover the wilted leaves… now to the hero the steak which was ….ok….. and being that was all I could eat. Now I didn’t get a photo of the menu sorry BUT it’s different isn’t the menu showing on here otherwise I would’ve had something different so maybe it has been updated or kitchen...
Read moreI was in hotel lift and sore this poster for The Rose Irish bar on the lift wall. The spaghetti and meatballs looked so nice. The reviews looked so good for this bar. First time going to this bar and it was nice environment and quiet as it was Tuesday. I ordered a drink, garlic loaf and the spaghetti and meatballs.
Service was so fast on the meal. The garlic loaf was good and then came out spaghetti n meatballs which looked nothing like photo. Pasta was bland, meatballs were so dry and tasteless. The paste sauce tasted as if it was frozen along with meatballs. I ask if I could have a little side of parmesan cheese to put on the pasta to give it a bit of flavor. I was refused at first and told I will have to pay for it and then I was told by the bar tender that the chef said there is some in the meatballs. I not hard to make fresh pasta sauce and offer a bit of cheese if requested by a paying...
