Cheesy Eggs for her and the Smoked Fish Hash for me were the orders of the day - chuck in some extra toast, a couple of flat whites and call it breakfast. The place was busy but we'd come at the brunching hour so no surprises. Our server was Sara ... she had quite a big section to get through but she was quick and friendly. We ordered coffee, chose food and enjoyed the noise. There were a few kids and babies and large groups of diners. A testament to the quality of their food and service. Our meals arrived and I immediately had food envy and wished I'd ordered cheesy eggs too. My hash was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside with the perfect balance of smoked fish to potato - poached eggs and brown butter hollandaise it was delicious! The cheesy eggs were ... cheesy, gooey and everything I knew it was going to be. Thick pieces of sourdough toast to mop up the sauce and it all smelt divine. The experience wasn't without issue. My wife found herself chewing on a fairly decent sized piece of cling wrap probably used to hold the egg as it cooked. You only have to look around to see that the probability of this happening is rarer then hens teeth. Everything we saw coming out of the kitchen was consistently beautiful. Everyone around us had beautifully plated food. So the 5 stars isn't for the food which is definitely a Napier 'must go' you won't regret it and like us, you'll drop by everytime you're in town. It is for the service. Sara and Deepak - you were both amazing and we appreciated the care and professionalism you showed. Thank you. EDIT: Another visit and we decided to try something different. Corn fritters for her and smoked fish hash for me. No regrets!

Very nice ambience. Visited Dec2020. I had the grilled octopus which am was amazing 19$. This was my first time having octopus. Tasted very nice and not very chewy which is sometimes the case with seafood of over cooked.. certainly recommended. For mains I had their special which was bone marrow ravioli 29$. I found this quite difficult. Even though I love bone marrow and have it regularly but this was quite heavy and oily. I couldn’t finish it . Would suggest to steer clear. Unless u r an Adventurer.. misfired for me :) For dessert I had their peach and vanilla ice cream. This was very nice 18$. Plus a drink so overall 82$... wil come again for something else.. ====== Visited again in mar 2021. This time had special drink 18$. Ora king salmon which was basically just fresh raw salmon. (24$) and roasted fish (35$) this was monk and was chewy. For that price I’d have expected a more delicate fish like snapper or Tarakihi. On a whole expensive but definitely worth trying. ________ Mar 2021 Visited for breakkie Had eggs (22$) 2 eggs with toast, mushroom n tomato. and fruits 16$ Expensive .. try other places for breakkie ———— Nov 2021 Another visit. This time for a steak as have tried every other place. Had miso soaked salmon sashimi (26$) with steak (41$) potato side (12$) and caramel mouse (18$) with 2 (18/12$) drinks. Total bill 127$. Taste wise good but I’d definitely say it’s an expensive place and there r better steak places out there.

Went here for brunch. This is a fabulous restaurant in Napier. The food is incredible and you have to have the donuts with your choice of filling! It comes in a syringe. The mimosas are amazing. One of the hardest things is to make a choice from the fantastic menu. I hate to have to give a three rating - I would love to have given a four. The reason I have given a three is down to the staff. I won't say they were rude, moreso curt and blunt. Asking a question about the donut fillings and what I might get was met with a response along the lines of, how about we clear the tables first. The same server was equally blunt when we ordered food at the beginning and even moreso when it came to ordering our donuts. He was clearly irate and had very little patience especially when the kids wanted to order their own food. The place was busy but we were very compliant and relaxed and having worked in hospitality myself you simply can't be this curt or blunt with customers. Overall the staff seemed to be quite unhappy and not enjoying their working environment. But as I said, you cannot fault the food - simply delicious. So maybe I went on a bad day. If in Napier I would definitely check it out and hopefully it's a happier day at the office when you do.

Me and my friend went there last night expecting an awesome dinner. But the truth is firstly we pre booked the seat n they still put us besides the door. Every time when other guests come in or go out we enjoyed the cold wind blowing to our face and body. There were another table but they refused as it has been booked by other guests ( the mystery guests never arrive instead they allowed another couple sit in just few minutes after we ordered our meal) . The shared entrée were both lack of quality. The bread was hard and salty. The civich has no taste and basically just coconut juice with raw fish and half soft crackers. The both two mains has no suprise and both was very boring and small portion. In the end the popular donut was half cooked. The inside was still doughly. Never again everything is lacking of creativity and playing safe card and over charging. The price was too high for what they are offering us. Two of us paid for almost 200 dollars for the bad quality food and seat. The service was alright but just FYI the waiter almost fall because he was step on other guest cloth. Honestly don't go over priced and low quality.

Risotto is great, not sure if liked the sashimi salad or the smashed avocado sandwich. We'd preferred if the sandwich came by default with the egg or bacon, as without them it was very coarse and dry. The sashimi salad, dressing was too strong and overpowers the fish. The uncut leaves of lettuce were too large for comfortable eating, and so was the salmon. The presentation as well... I'm not sure how it is appetizing in a pile. However we were hungry, so we did not send it back though in retrospect we should have let the staff know. To be fair I think their highlights are meant to be the fried dough items, which we did not get. Food is on the pricier side, and service is courteous but perhaps not as warm as it is professional. Staff are fairly quick enough, but sometimes we are left waiting for a bit longer than we'd like when we have a question or request.

Having gone for both lunch and breakfast. I can say both menu options are amazing. The restaurant is perfectly curated with amazing food and theme of the restaurant. With both indoor and outdoor eating it makes for a great summer lunch or a winter dinner. The cocktail menu has been carefully created to offer amazing cocktails. With a large selection of wine and craft beer available as well. If you are looking for a great coffee then this is a great place to stop and get it. Their hot chocolates are yummy for those who don’t drink coffee, they also come with in-house made marshmallow. If you are needing a place to go then I would highly recommend stopping hear.
