Delight Plus Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Napier

My partner and I absolutely love the food here. I've been here only twice and loved it both times but it's your waiter that let's you down. She was an older lady, quite short, permed hair. We asked her what her recommendations were for the squid, considering she's aparantly worked there for a while she couldn't recommend anything, said " oh I don't know". We we're quite gobsmacked but thats not what this complaint is for. My partner and I watched her clear tables and as she was walking towards the kitchen she picked up the fork that was on the plate and was eating the scraps. I've never seen this in my whole dining experiences. The fact she couldn't let us know what was on the menu or she ate the diners scraps. Both takeaway and dine in offer the nicest, most authentic and best value for money Chinese in Napier. The usual things to look for in a international cuisine restaurant is nationals dining there, and at Delight Plus, they are plentiful. Not a fan of the rice and often the service can seem a bit off, but they are all lovely people once you "get to know them". We've been there multiple times over the years and continue to enjoy the consistency, and that's what keeps most places going. That's likely why they've been there for longer than I can remember. As an avid lover of chinese food and after reading posts about this place i thought we'd go and see how it stacks up. I purchased combination fried rice, vegetable egg foo young, honey chicken and black bean sauce with combination meats. I paid $74.50. Looking at the menu the next day, I was shortchanged $7.00 so make sure you compare what they charge with the prices on the menu before paying. The fried rice was dry and tasteless. The egg foo young was flat, dry and slightly burnt. The vegetables in the black bean sauce and meats were soggy and the honey chicken was too sweet, I actually think they just poured honey on it.
