Georgia on Tennyson — Restaurant in Napier

When you advertise pour over coffee one expects to be able to order this. As a pour over coffee drinker or filter bach brew if pour over is not available, I decided to go to Georgia on Tennyson as images of the shop plus in the shop all the equipment was available. When asked for a coffee I was told no we are not serving pour over today, when I commented I had made a trip just for pour over I was offered a long black of espresso and water which of course I refused. On stating I prefer filter I was told "suit yourself" delivered in a very off hand manner. My friends ordered flay white coffee stating they were average. Outstanding coffee - definitely the best we had in Hawkes Bay, and probably in New Zealand.

They have a couple of house blends and a couple of guests. Georgia's serves normal espresso coffees as well as every filter option you can think of (I spotted chemex, aeropress, and v60) - all delicious and well brewed.

Would love to have tried your coffee, as it has a great reputation, but no sweets and kinda dark and unwelcoming, so we ended up going somewhere else; probably for worse coffee :-(.… seems to me like a cafe for locals “early birds”, but if you run out of everything by the time we can get there, not much use to us.
