I recently visited nysa Turkish restaurant and it was an unforgettable experience! Turkish cuisine is one of my absolute favorited, so I was genuinely excited to try this spot, and it absolutely lived up to my expectations.
The moment I walked in, I was welcomed by the wonderful, cozy atmosphere - the decor is inviting, stylish, and truly makes you feel at home. The staff were attentive and super friendly, always ready with a smile and great recommendations. You can tell they genuinely care about creating a welcoming space for everyone.
I ordered the mixed mezze platter to start - creamy hummus, vibrant tabbouleh, and the crispiest falafel, all perfectly seasoned and fresh. For the main course, I decided on their grilled lamb kebab, which was juicy, tender, and full of flavour especially when paired with their fluffy rice and fresh salad. The baklava for dessert was the perfect finish: sweet, nutty, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious.
What really stood out was how heartwarming and mouthwatering the whole experience was. Everything felt freshly made with lots of care, and the portions were really generous. I also love that they have plenty of vegetarian and vegan options.
This place is a gem for anyone who loves authentic Turkish food or just wants a cozy place in Nelson to unwind with friends or family. I’m already planning my next visit - there’s so much more on the menu I can’t wait to try! Highly recommend nysa to anyone looking for a delicious, heartwarming meal in a...
Read moreI have been unable to find authentic falafel in all of New Zealand. That is, until I walked into Paasha. I got the flalafel kebab combo with chips and a tin of soda for $18. When the plate arrived, I was quite surprised to see how big the wrap was, and how many chips they gave. It seemed like they piled it on top of the plate. I came with a big appetite and I struggled to finish all of the food. As I sat and ate my food, I observed the staff; both of the waitresses on staff were extremely polite and checked to make sure everything was okay during the meal. The chef/owner made sure to greet every single customer that walked into the door even if the waitresses had already done so. When an elderly German couple walked in and were struggling with the menu, the chef came out and personally walked them through it. He was polite, considerate, and respectful. If you want to know how to run a small business, have a seat in Paasha, order their delicious food, and watch the staff work their charm. My only regret is that I'm leaving...

Coming down from Auckland, we weren't expecting to find many Halal restuarants that accomodate to our dietary requirements so we decided to try out Pashaa's on the first night & we were soo impressed!! We were treated to well, they made sure that we had everything & even threw in a few extra things. We ordered the shared (mixed) platter for 2 & it was DELICIOUS!! I highly recommend it. The portions were generous, the meats were tender & cooked well. We loved it so much the we decided to come back for the second night & the staff were so welcoming & happy to have us again.
