Kismet Cocktail & Whisky Bar — Restaurant in Nelson

We arrived at this bar and were sat pretty quickly. They have outdoor heaters and provide you with blankets also. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the prices weren't too high. I had mocktails and the drinks still looked and tasted great. Although they ran out of the banana leaf, for the drink called Banana Old Fashion, the group really enjoyed them but they just didn't look as pretty by the end of the night. One thing that made me drop a star is the amount of time that it took to bring out the drinks. It is far too long and would suggest that maybe an extra mixologist is on site on busy nights. Arrived about 9ish on a Friday night and place was filling up quite quickly. DJ playing some cool boogie, modern dance tunes. A couple of 20 something groups filed in, by ut were served quite quickly and disappeared to the upstairs area. I had a very well prepared Negroni ( my favourite) and my 3 friends chose something else from the quite extensive cocktail menu. We were lucky 4 people left their table as we arrived, so got a good table near the bar. Popular place. I'd go back for the quality cocktails, service and the music. I'd recommend getting a table early if you are thinking of having a bender here.also, some outside seating...

The space was created into welcoming & mysterious atmosphere, it triggers my curiosity for discovering the space.

The most impressive point is more than decorating style here, the owner put the history of Nelson city inside of the materials he chose. If curious about the connection between the old pieces of wine barrel wood on the bar bench and the old painting on the wall? Go to ask the owner.
