As a 40-something male who grew up in the 80s, loving motorbikes, jet planes and movies, when I heard that a new Top Gun was in the works, I was a happy chap! A group of similar aged friends and I got together, and thought that a nice precursor to the movie would be...Beer, wine and pizza! We booked a table for 6 and off we went! Firstly, the staff here are incredible. We immediately felt welcome, and were quickly seated and greeted by staff who were friendly and enjoyed a bit of banter. We asked for some advice around a wine option., and the gentleman who served us recommended a red which went PERFECTLY with our meal. We ordered 3 medium pizzas for the table, and don't let the size fool you, these were huge! The first pizza was the Napoli, the anchovies and capers were a great balance, and this was a favourite of the table. The second pizza was the Padrino, as we have some blue cheese fans amongst us. This is a MUST TRY if you are a blue cheese fan. The ham and salami sit well with the cheese, and the capsicum provides a nice burst of freshness. The third pizza was a vegetarian, as we had a couple of those in the group also! And they were not disappointed! I even had a piece of this, and as a pretty keen omnivore, I was sated. The artichokes provided some good texture and the pizza was light and tasty. Overall - This place makes a banging pizza dough, and this is what can make or break a good pizza. All of the ingredients were fresh and you could tell that experience and care has gone into constructing each pizza. Do it, you wont be...
Read moreStefanos pizzeria make delicious pizzas and my friends, family, and I are frequent customers. For that reason, I really wished to leave an excellent review. However, some of their staff can be difficult to work with. Today, I was driving in from Richmond with some family members to go for lunch. We settled on Stefanos and I decided to ring ahead to book a table and order pizzas as it was already 1:30pm. I asked if we could order pizzas ahead of time to eat in the restaurant, for which I have arranged in the past following a movie viewing at the adjacent cinema. I was met with a brick wall and told this was not possible. This did not bother me too much as I knew we would arrive by 1:45pm. However, when I asked to book a table at 1:45pm instead, I was told that the kitchen closed at 2pm. It was suggested that we order as a takeaway but informed we would have to leave the premises to indulge in our food. There was simply no negotiating with the man on the phone and he brushed us off, saying the chef was almost ready to go home (30 minutes before the kitchen closed?). Look, I am a really big fan of Stefanos but the business needs to do more to accommodate its customers - especially loyal ones. It’s difficult to understand how businesses are suffering from the ongoing effects of the pandemic when they respond in this manner. I will continue to support Stefanos but hope they can be more accommodating in the future. Otherwise, my friends, family, and I may be forced to get my pizza...
Read moreI found a hair in my pasta. My meal was taken away after I told the waiter. 15 minutes later another meal arrived to replace my first meal. No apology or recognition about the hair. I declined the second meal . No visit from the manager. When we went to pay at the end of the night the staff member at the till hardly addressed it, untill I mentioned how unhappy I was about having a hair in my meal. His response " we took it out the back and analyzed it and it was a red hair"
At this point I nearly lost the plot because I have red hair and the hair I found clearly wasn't red! This was there way of trying to get out of it! The hair was not red and was deeply embedded in the meal 3/4 of the way down. Not good enough Stefanos!
You then squeezed out an apology and deducted my meal cost after seeing how unhappy I was. I must say this was the first hair I have ever found in a meal while eating out! Let's hope it...
