Turf Hotel — Restaurant in Nelson

I was treated with disrespect ...I am 64 years old ...first time to this establishment....I complained....about the fact that it took ..45..or more minutes to fill our order if hot chips ....I pointed this out....to staff whom were ...rude and aggressive ...told me I was out of line . I was pissed ...and .my behavior was aggressive ...... I had 2 and and a 1/4wines ...over from 3 pm till 7 pm...she threw my $12.50 wine out with anger.... grabbed my bag dumped it outside on a table ... ..ruffed me up.. physically pushing me outside towards my car.......forced me out to my car ..told me the police had been called with my number plate info .......I told her that I was fine as I was certain I'm was not over the limit ....she abused me..... I am a influencal person....with my age and contacts ...I shall be spreading this discussing treatment......first time to the pub .......bad news travels fast ... It an very upset with my experience........young folk with no respect......for healthly criticism.......no care factor.......I expect to be compensated.........I've traveled to 28 countries around this planet.....I am ...

Honestly some of the worst service I've had at a pub, rude staff, terrible chips and shady atmosphere. Drinks were fine, but the barman quite blatantly showed his irritation when he misheard the simple order and had to swap out glasses. He then followed up with rude comments to the following couple for not ordering their drinks fast enough. During a busy time I understand it can be hard to keep up with orders but each paying patron deserves to be treated professionally, which was definitely not the case. Only 2 people pouring drinks when there are 20 odd people waiting to order doesn't work. The chips were practically raw when we got them, and we had to go back and ask for sauce. I am not a fussy eater at all, but these would rate some of worst chips I've ever bought. Won't be going there again...

Had the sirloin steak with chips and salad last night. The steak was reverse seared by the chef and it was one of the best tasting steaks I have ever eaten while out. And I have had a good few 5 star meals. I had the mushroom sauce which I loved. I could tell the chips were cooked old school. Yum. The salad and dressing was bang on, like not too much but very complementary to the steak and chips. My wife had the toasted sandwich and she said it was yum which made my brother n law get one as well. The staff were so nice and down to earth. Great place to eat drink and dance with the band. Ps the meal I had was a special at $25 and with my wife’s toasted sandwich meal it all only cost $35....
