Sunday afternoon 4pm: There are about 2- 3 customers in the whole place.
My friend and I go up to the bar - 2 staff members there. I smile at the young blondish woman behind the bar and say hello.
She stands hands on hips and says nothing. I then comment on how there are so many good choices on tap. She looks blankly in my direction and still doesn't speak or acknowledge me.
My friend asks then looks for a drinks list. She doesn't respond. A guy on the other side of the bar ( an off duty employee or customer? ) rushes to get us a drinks list.
I look at it and ask her if they have the mulled cider. She finally speaks - "nah" turns back to coworker and starts talking.
I turn to friend and suggest we not spend our $ where they so clearly want nothing to do with us. She's already on same page so we leave - not sure that was noticed.
We go to Baobab down the road where they greet, acknowledge and serve us as soon as we walk in the door. Lovely sunday session at Baobab. Recommend.

I did however also try the cheese burger, and can say that it was one of the best I have ever had. It's a simple classic, but done so well as to put all others to shame. So if you happen to find yourself at Bebemos (which you should) forget about the "Hail Mary" and instead get your prayers answered by the best cheese burger...

As soon as we walked in, we were met with a stare from the bartender who ignored us for a good while before brusquely handing us menus and telling us we should order at the counter when we’re ready. The service didn’t really improve from there - it remained cold, impersonal and made us feel quite unwelcome. She barely glanced at us as we ordered or as she delivered the food which we found bizarre.
The food itself was ok. We both ordered vegan burgers but they were both lacking texture/flavour and were slathered in a “tahini” sauce that didn’t taste like tahini.
Overall, a...
