Went here on Tuesday afternoon with a group of 5 of us for lunch. Good food and coffee, but 5/5 is for the great energy from the team. The Great And Powerful Zaatar halloumi sandwich, enthusiastically recommended by the barista, was tasty. My mum proclaimed the In the Wilderness mushroom sandwich to be the best sandwich she’s ever had. They were out of tuna unfortunately, discovered after ordering 2, but the staff was apologetic and quickly had them replaced with the Miss Rubena pastrami sandwich and steam-scrambled egg, which were decent. I asked for some rocket on my sandwich and the long-haired barista joyfully slapped it on there for me with gusto. Overall, a delightful first meal...

Tucked away in the dense Newtown shops, Black Coffee is a treasure of a cafe for those who enjoy an unpretentious, rustic locale to relax with a cup of coffee and a toastie. Staff were vibrantly pleasant and happy to answer all my enquiries about their expansive selection of coffee styles.
