Goode Brothers — Restaurant in North Island

We visited with a group of friends, 14 in total. We has booked the private dining room, but had to change to the main restaurant as the high table and stools did not suit our party of older people. Why do restaurants do this? I hate to be perched to eat. Good atmosphere, staff friendly and food came out in 2 parts, 3 friends had to wait an extra 10 mins for their meal. I ordered steak, and asked if the fries and salad could be replaced with vegetables. Broccolini was on the menu. I was told I could order it as a side, but they would increase the salad portion for the same price. As the steak was $45 I did not think I was being unreasonable. Salad was a bunch of leaves with a topping of grated carrot and onion. The dressing was aniseed flavoured, which had I known I would have refused. Steak was good, cooked well and to my liking. Perhaps I chose the wrong meal. Other meals at the table were good and enjoyed, plentiful portions, particularly the spaghetti and meatballs which is flamed with vodka at the table. Be careful, my friend nearly lost her eyebrows as she was not warned to sit back! The chicken parmigiana and the chicken and bacon pasta were also good. Overall we had a good time. Fantastic Dining Experience at Goode Brothers Bethlehem!

Goode Brothers in Bethlehem is an absolute gem! The food quality is outstanding, with fresh ingredients and delicious flavours that truly impress. The facility is spotless, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. The staff are incredibly friendly, accommodating, and attentive, making every visit a pleasure. On top of that, the pricing is very reasonable, offering great value for the experience.

The only small suggestion we had (which we also mentioned to the team) is regarding the child seats. The current ones aren’t the most practical, as they lack comfort and ease of use. A simple, standalone highchair with its own tray would be much more convenient for both kids and parents.

It’s like a Cobb and Co Italian huge meals had Chicken parmigiana didn’t like it not what I expected huge crumbed chicken with massive piece of ham on top and some not fully melted cheese with fries seems weird salad was lovely Took away a panacotta but unfortunately they put on the hot food so it melted away Found it very expensive for what it is spent $140 for takeaway no drinks We’ll have to eat my words ate in this time This place makes the best burbon pecan pie I have ever tasted I would come for just this and the calamari was soft superb and the pizza amazing and the choices so hard to decide the staff were lovely fantastic service And found prices very reasonable I guess I just chose wrong last time can’t recommend this place highly enough can’t wait for my next visit I give you ten stars and apologise for my shit review Your place is amazing get there before it’s all booked out...
