We visited the place for brunch this morning. The waitress was friendly but unfortunately she forgotten to put our order through. After an hour we started to wonder where our meals were. The same waitress came and apologised and promised to put our order through straight away and offered to give us complimentary drinks. We said that it is okay but she should first put our order up and then could come back and take the drink orders. When the waitress came back, one of our kids asked for smoothie as the kid didn't order any drink initially. The waitress then said that the manager said that they can't offer anymore drinks but the drinks we had will be free. On that note the mum of the kid said that the kid has been waiting for more than hour and it's going to take another 15 to 20 minutes to cook the food don't you think the staff should offer complimentary drink to the kid as a courtesy to compensate for the wait and inconvenience. The waitress refused by saying it's the managers call. In the end the waitress charged one of my friends for her orange juice as well. When we questioned isn't the drinks you said we had will be on the house, the waitress said the offer was only for the coffees. We were stunned to hear that. This service was of low quality. Overall it was disrespectful and a complete disappointment. I suggest the staff (manager) should receive training on customer service and management. Read moreMy partner and I arrived mid morning-ish about 9-10am Not busy, could clearly see the massive reserved tables were not in yet so figured it was a good time to eat before they arrived. Had a table for two up the back, ordered straight away but there after downhill. One waitress walked past our table 4 times before I had to ask for another drink even then she didn’t clear our coffee cups so I had to ask her myself. By the time we had eaten and finished our meals our drinks still had not arrived (1x Coke & 1x long black is not difficult), only one of our drinks came to the table so I had to get my second coffee takeaway to which the male barista said “Oh sorry just a busy morning” It was not busy, they were not fully seated with any of the massive reserved tables yet only booths and outside tables. I could clearly tell waitstaff were not interested in being at work. Food was exceptional hence the 2 stars, but I’m so glad I had a gift voucher to use, this is exactly why I don’t spend my own money here. I can’t stand poor wait service like this, it’s extremely frustrating. I’ve been wait staff myself many years ago at Marbles with far larger groups and functions. Read moreWe had coffee and a breakfast for three persons on 13/07/15 . Our aim , as 3 older friends , was to have a regular meeting place and Joes Garage was tried . On entering , the loud , offensive music was noted ( clearly being enjoyed by the young waitresses ) .We tried to have a conversation and had to speak loudly to hear each other . None of us suffer a hearing impediment . I approached one waitress at the counter ( another was within earshot ), and requested that the volume be lowered as we were having difficulty conversing , and was told that the system was "all in one , and that was not possible". Our food arrived , and the eggs benedict was ok , but the rhubarb cereal and the bacon roll were ordinary . I have owned businesses in my life , and if I may give a little advice , music should be a background factor , and a choice of music that is pleasant and subtle , not that loud , offensive rubbish we were subjected to ."The customer is always right" could be something you might think about . If customers find something in your operation that is offensive enough to complain about , do something about it . That is how you get return custom .
