It may be unfair to rate this place on one visit but was majorly disappointed .. used the kiosk to order only to be told afterwards that they had run out Wicked Wings.. the server at the counter said that they would substitute for normal chicken or give a refund.... I opted for the substitution ... but whilst waiting for the order to arrive, someone else who I can only assume was the shift manager said that they would not substitute chicken for wings as it was more expensive 🤔.... then , after thinking it couldn't get any worse I was told that they were not able to refund me that evening as when paying through the kiosk the system does not allow this ??? I paid through an eftpos machine, seemed to be the same as the ones at the counter??? Can't understand why . .. soooo.... then i am told that it could take up to seven days for the refund !! The only record they took was handwritten on a blank piece of paper , with scant details relating to me.. nothing to tie it to my transaction nor what I was supplied.. this visit to KFC Mount Maunganui has left a bad feeling in my gut and it's certainly not because of the food as I never received it 😕 I know it's a fast food place but the premises where the food was being boxed up left room for improvement also.... sorry for the rant, I know we are turning into a world full of Karen's but sometimes we need to share our experiences whether great , average or in this case, far less...

If the management haven't forgotten to order lettuce salt mayonnaise or just chicken in general they are always out of something......
Also they love to make you wait forever in the long lines they have terrible service so it can take a very long time, I think their management should take the McDonald's course to learn a thing or two...
Have been complaining and writing emails for a few years now but the company simply just doesn't care about the branch. Complaint forms don't mean anything online because you'll never hear or see anything be fixed so what's the point of even having them.
Example tonight I way to 35 minutes in a line to be told very rudely that they are closed because the systems are now down... could've said it nicely and you probably could've taken cash but you just couldn't be bothered.
Once again the worst KFC !!
Whoever owns this branch all you care about is obviously income and not about the customers.

KFC New Zealand finally got in contact...
simply just told me to stop eating it, very simple though because they don't keep it in stock so therefore pretty hard to stop eating it when you can't get it in the first place. Very professional

Read moreFor a long time this location in particular has been consistent for sub par service. Food is ok but every time I stop in because it is more convenient than something else, I'm reminded why I don't frequent this location anymore. The staff, if there are any, are just not interested in doing anything for anyone. Case in point this visit, there was a guy that was working the drive up and he was very friendly and fast at everything, we get up to pay, and he happens to mention he isn't sure about something we asked because he is in from another location just for tonight to help out. Makes sense now, THAT'S WHY he is so much different from the others. Customer after customer was trying to walk into the dine-in area because of course the sign says open till 10pm dine in. But doors are locked and no indication of otherwise, so there is a girl in the dine in area on break and acting oblivious to the situation as to not be bothered, when they can just put up a sign that the dine-in area is closed. See you in another year maybe when you are much more convenient, but I forget how horrible your...
