Mariana's Kitchen Eatery — Restaurant in North Island

Such a delightful café with delectable food and lovely, friendly staff! The selection of Argentinian cuisine is fantastic. I particularly enjoyed the empanadas, especially the beef and mushroom ones. They were perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I also tried the coffee twice, and both times it was brewed to perfection. The rich aroma and smooth flavor were simply divine. While I didn't personally try the milanesa, it looked incredibly tempting, as did the "Today's Steak Sandwich." The friendly Spanish-speaking staff added an extra layer of charm, providing a great opportunity to practice our language skills. We'll definitely be returning to this...

There were quite a few problems with our orders (wrong items, missed coffee, wrong milk), and while that could be explained by communication/language issues the response to dealing with them by one of the staff was defensive about language and didn't seem solution oriented. We all have bad days, but when customers are frustrated due to multiple issues it doesn't help to escalate. We don't speak Spanish, and maybe our accents aren't great, but we do want to experience your great food. We're not trying to create problems.

I stop in quite often, to their eatery next to the library, so I’m quite familiar with the menu and wonderful staff. Everything I’ve eaten here has been delicious and fresh. I mostly order their eggs on toast or omelette, it’s affordable and tasty. I highly recommend their Lomito Open Sandwich with fries on the side (I didnt take a photo 😭) but it’s sooo flavoursome and their fries are always cooked to perfection.
