Matamata Club — Restaurant in North Island

This club should be embrassed of their service. The club was advised that we would be attending with a large group 24 hours prior to arrival. We arrived and ordered at 5.50pm as per their instructions. By this stage 3 of the limited menu items were not available. After about 30min most of our group including those who had ordered after us had been served. At about 45 mins we enquired about our order again to be told " you have to wait" At 60 mins we enquired again - they would not check with the kitchen or accept it was a lost order. At 90 mins we asked for a refund ( which they were reluctant to provide) and our group left. Surely the club management find this situation...

Visited the Matamata club for a large private dinner function. From what I did see it seemed to try and create a high quality vibrant place offering a great selection of food /bar services -TAB and other ammendities to their members and guests. It has certainly stood the test of time here in Matamata as a foundation club which was the next big level up from say the RSA or Working man's club of their day. Like all 'clubs' of their time it has adapted and matured to a more family friendly organization which I bieve it is . I had a great evening, very good food well priced drinks and good company. Had a party of 12 last evening which was booked 10 days ago . The women who I spoke to did not have a nice manner at all (wrong person for the job). Last night was very busy with group bookings one in our group got his entree and main before anybody else in group got anything . We finally got meals delivered to table half an hour apart most had finished theirs before the last meal came out . No apologies were given ,no desert was offered and when we asked for coffee was told not doing coffee tonight . On a positive note we couldn’t fault the food but the service was...
