We first discovered Miss Kangsta two years ago during a visit to Wellington, and it immediately became one of our favorite spots. We loved everything about it then – the food, the atmosphere, the warm welcome – so when we came back to the city, it was at the top of our list. And somehow, it was even better this time around.
The food is simply outstanding. Every dish is full of bold, authentic flavors, beautifully presented, and clearly made with love. It’s the kind of food that makes you slow down to savor every bite. Whether you're a Korean food aficionado or trying it for the first time, you’re in for a treat. The place is also completely gluten free so if you’re coeliac like us you can go there safely.
The owner is genuinely one of the nicest people you’ll meet – friendly, attentive, and passionate about what they do. It adds a personal, welcoming touch that makes the whole experience feel special.
And let’s not forget the décor – it’s stylish, vibrant, and perfectly captures the energy of the place. Every detail feels thoughtfully put together, creating an ambiance that’s both cozy and cool.
If you're in Wellington, do not miss Miss Kangsta. It’s rare to find a place that leaves such a lasting impression, and we can't wait to...
Read moreI'm not from Wellington fabulous place to eat we were able to go twice and will definitely go again when next in Wellies. Great price, quick service, friendly especially when I kept mucking up my cards had to transfer extra funds from one account to the other before I could pay and used the wrong card the second time he was all good about it both times and waited patiently with a genuine smile. We had Popcorn Chicken w rice and salad x3, Doobu, Daxgalbi [not sure if I've spelt this correct as I'm going on my memory] and Vege & Kimchi Mandu absolutely delicious. I feel I have to add this, there must be some sort of medicinal benefits in the food, because I suffered an accident in January and from that time until Tuesday 26th May [at the time we ate] the pain was excruciating my GP limited my pain relief because I have one kidney so the pain would still be present everyday. After eating this food the pain was drastically reduced, please don't say it was because it was gluten free, I am already using gluten free products and therefore my belief it is the food on that basis alone I will definitely be going back to Kangsta Korean Restaurant. Thank...
Read moreWe originally stopped by for lunch. However, even though their hours stated an opening time of 10:30 AM, nobody was there, so we ended up going somewhere else as this place is located inside of a food hall with many other vendors.
We ended up coming back the same day for dinner, and the food was pretty good and made fresh to order. The prices were a little high, and our 2 plates came out to a little over $40 NZD. Everything is gluten free though so it's a great place with anyone that has gluten as a dietary restriction.
Don't forget to bring cash, especially if you're not from NZ! They do not accept paywave or credit cards, so luckily, I had enough cash to cover our meal! That was a major inconvenience, especially given the average price of their meals. All the other vendors in the food hall accepted credit cards for purchases...
