Stables on Alpha — Restaurant in North Island

We are currently sitting here at the moment, my friends chicken is literally pink so we did say something and the chefs said it’s normal for that type of chicken, which????? No? I literally never complain but we both feel so sick right now, the staff is lovely and really kind to us and keep checking on us but the chicken is so yuck and tasted like flour, my steak is all good apart from no seasoning it’s just steak and the mashed potatoes the same and for nearly $50 I’m really upset, our drinks aswell now and super watered down and for someone who loves a strong drink I’m quite upset

Okay update - they gave us a free dessert because of the chicken and didn’t make my friend pay for it, we appreciate that but also we got 2 $17 cocktails and paid a extra $2 dollars so I’d say that isn’t a free dessert lol, the staff is honestly lovely but saying that you used a thermometer for the chicken and that it’s a different type of chicken which will always be pink when it’s cooked does not cut it, it was terrible either was because the crust was just plain flour and we actually feel so yuck, the staff you are lovely but I’m definitely not coming back and disappointed by the steak too and was upset I had to pay for that.

Also just calculated what my price was suppose to be, charged me $3 extra it doesn’t sound much but it’s down right rude so if yall are on a budget I would highly recommended...

came here for dinner, most staff were friendly and helpful and we got seated straight away, my husband ordered a lemon lime and bitters and unfortunately the drink tasted very weak. For dinner we ordered the pork and a pizza. The pizza was alright, a bit over cooked and the roast pork wasn’t the best… pork was quite fatty and dry. Came with hardly no gravy so asked the girl for some more gravy to put on the remaining pork, when we finished our meal and went to pay we noticed they had charged us an extra $2.00 for the gravy! This is super annoying as the pork roast should already come with enough gravy and having to ask for some more we thought it would be free or just $0.50 extra which we wouldn’t mind especially considering the amount they gave us as “extra” gravy was nothing! not even 2 tablespoons worth. Most other places would just give you the gravy for free or at most an extra $0.50. Was super disappointed in this to be honest. Don’t really recommend at all. Also the music they were playing during dinner service was more like town club music. Besides from the negatives everything...

1/12/19. Very disappointing. Is anyone ever going to clear our main course plates away? Is anyone ever going to come and ask if we'd like any deserts or coffee? When we come up to pay the bill and go to leave are you even going to ask us if we enjoyed our meal? answer; Nope, Nope, aaaand Nope..... Sorry Stables but was pretty disappointing service for a quiet Sunday evening before 6;30pm. And just for the record, no we didn't enjoy our meal. My partner and I both had the Duck. the duck itself was good enough, but neither of us enjoyed that orange baby food that was supposed to be Kumara mash, it was sickly sweet and very runny, and whatever that great blob of battered and deep fried oily goop was supposed to be it sure wasn't anything like "crispy Kale" we expected looked very unappealing. We would of let you know this at the time, if you'd bothered to ask.... shame, we've been here before and had good meal, but tonights experience definitely means we...
