Bacon Buttie Station — Restaurant in Otago

Came by for breakfast. It located just behind the Railway station, just cross the footbridge over the tracks and you should see it to your left. The menu is fairly large with options for a buttie (sliced white bread), hotdog or burger. They also have other items as well like chips and sausages. There is a specials board as you come in so you can easily see what's on offer for the day. We ordered and paid at the counter and sat at a table. Think they had 2 bacon butties for $10. I ordered a Porkupine with a side of fries. The burger was good, though it unfortunately fell apart in my car. Might pay into getting some bun picks to hold them together. However, the fries.. Unfortunately I can't say much good about them. The portion size was good, and they were cooked well, even though staff did have to rely on a timer which I found was a tad perplexing. But they were way over seasoned. All I could taste was either garlic salt or chicken salt. Couldn't tell which. But there was heaps of it. It was like I ordered salt with some chips. Great place after a Saturday night P!nk concert. The $18 breakfast is well worth it and you can go back to extras if you like. It is usually busy here so get early for 9am opening or wait till about 10am After the first lot have finished. They have an app so you can order ahead which is a great idea to save some time.
