The Standard Kitchen — Restaurant in Otago

Located inside a Heritage building, this hidden cafe has an inviting, cozy vibe for One to hang around and catch up for a coffee (with a meal to with to). Brunch options are delicious and the coffee selection is promising. There’s varied selections of yummy cabinet food ready to be heated (and for sharing) but also One can order warm meals from their menu as well. The cafe looks deceivingly small but there are ample seating found also underneath for small to bigger groups as well as tables near the till. One can easily spend time hanging around in this place as the staff are welcoming and there’s privacy to be found in this almost hidden cafe in the middle...

Excellent place to stop in! Even when the place is packed the staff create a great, welcoming atmosphere. I would have included photos of my food, but I ate it too damn fast, it hit the spot that well. A well lit, inviting, contemporary spot with seating below and on ground level. While small, it fits a comfortable amount of people. There is an array of varied food options, including gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, and vegan. Wheelchair inaccessible (narrow, steps or stairs), and the downstairs seating is right next to a cooking area so be aware if you have sensory concerns...

This is definitely not one of the usual coffee chains, although limited in selection when it comes to coffee, they do a good job on it. The space is nice, with large windows giving lots of natural light, and the downstairs seating is quite plenty for a cafe as well.
