It's a beautiful old theatre. Not huge but still feels grand. Good view of the stage from everywhere, the sound is great, the seats are comfy enough and not too cramped. There's always a good choice of shows/ events... something for everyone. 😃

Every detail from Front of House staff Ticketing Box Office Staff Backstage Technical Staff and total decor and ambience is superb. An historical building we should continue to preserve.

I went to watch a movie tonight (Bellbird - a very good NZ film) and as happens every time I visit this theatre am in awe of it's beautiful interior. It is so classical and one could be anywhere in Europe or the UK such is it's majesty. The atmosphere completed by comfortable seats and a good view of the screen/stage wherever you sit. A real asset to Dunedin and a testament to the incredible fundraising efforts over the years to preserve...

World Famous in Dunedin. The Regent is a true gem. Lots of renowned events happing all year round, including theatre productions and exclusive film screenings. A true favorite of mine is the "Regent book sale" and the "Anything BUT books Sale" The Regent is filled with classic and historic decor, offers comfortable seating and a very large stage and back stage area. There is a fun energy about the place and that is what makes it...

The Regent Theatre was opened in 1928 as a Picture Palace .It forfilled that role brilliantly untill the early '70's when big cinemas became uneconomic .It was nearly lost to Dunedin but a trust was quickly formed to buy it off the owners Kerridge Odeon, now it serves as a live show venue for the City. Film returned with the International Film Festival being held there every year. A great venue for Dunedin was saved for the...
