I was looking forward to trying this cafe given it’s popularity. However I was disappointed to find that it is severely overhyped for the poor menu and service. The menu differed from the website and when our group arrived we found that the majority of the options contained conflicting food combinations. I suspect that this has been done to give the impression of gourmet food or to assist with the aesthetics for the instagram photos. Disaster struck again as we placed our order at 10:50am but didn’t receive our meals until 12:10pm. Once the food arrived it was presented nicely. The ciabatta bread did appear to be a day or few old and some of the food seemed to be ‘fresh’ from frozen. Overall I would rate about 3 stars if I was being generous as the food was slightly better than what someone could prepare at home. However given our poor experience with the wait times and that this is the first cafe that we have tried in Dunedin there surely must be better alternatives around as we left with a lot...

A great little café on Princes Street in Dunedin with an inviting atmosphere and plenty of seating inside. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a quick coffee break or relax with one of their tasty light meals or snacks. It can get a bit busy around lunchtime, but otherwise it’s a peaceful and welcoming place. They also offer excellent sourdough bread to order and have a great selection of locally roasted Dunedin coffee beans and ground coffee available to buy. Whether you’re enjoying a brew on-site or picking up supplies to make your own at home, the quality is always top-notch. They have really good food and coffee, but sometimes they struggle with taking orders, and have got my order wrong multiple times. Maybe the staff are still training? For example, I have been brought the wrong size coffee and payed for an extra coffee that I didn’t even order, however I did get a refund. I have also been told large coffee are single shot.. but they’re double. Their cabinet food is good quality, fresh and delicious. I recommend the breakfast brioche bun.
