Has gone downhill and poor for vegetarian. Not recommended for vegetarian.
I tried to email the restaurant rather than edit my old five star review out of respect but there's no email.
My partner and I have come here many times but last night I was quite disappointed.
As a vegetarian person there is now nothing substantial. The main central vegetarian thing to eat which was a tofu soup is now gone and replaced by yet another meat dish. There are so many meat options and as a vegetarian you are relegated purely to side dishes. All very nice but lacking. So sad as there are so many lovely Korean vegetarian soups anyone could eat but not there.
Furthermore the music which used to be a noticeable great selection was replaced with what just seemed like the radio being on. Also the decor which used to be a trendy eclectic mix of things is now just what I'd call random . It's almost comical. Car stuff and 'man shed's items with a big framed image of a Popeye cartoon, che Guevara, popcorn , and Snoopy.
The vegetarian issue is the main thing. The fact there just such an unusually high amount of meat makes it worse. What about a bip n bap, some dwenjang jiggae or gimchi jiggae ?? For that reason alone it's not worth 35 dollars at all for me for just meat eating side dish food. The decor and the music just added to it.
I have loved your place but I personally have no need to come again sadly unless I know it's changed for the better. I would have emailed if I could out of respect but hope you can read this as constructive feedback as it has gone downhill to how it was. I'm sure others must have noticed too. I will not pay 35 dollars...
Read moreThe one star I’ve given are only for the owners hospitality and customer service. Being a big fan of Korean cuisine we came here all the way from Henderson on a Wednesday night and were extremely disappointed with the food. Most of the food was cold and hard and old (ie. chips, spring rolls, sushi - was like a rock, cold hard fried rice with barely any veges or meat in it) at 8pm they weren’t serving a lot of the dishes anymore (japchae, sushi). The meat was limp & not marinated well. Overall the food is substandard for Korean food compared to other Korean BBQ buffets like 8 colours in takapuna or paradise bbq on Hobson street. The selection is small and flavourless. What a shame the chef is ruining their business. Can’t believe someone would serve this quality of food in a restaurant and expect $35 a person & $17 for a 6 year old. We were only there for 10min and after sampling each of the dishes we weren’t prepared to pay almost $100 for food that tasted worse than food court food or something we could make better at home. Owner was understanding and nice & waived our bill. Place could be improved by bigger selection of food & a NEW CHEF pronto & serving fresh food and the full selection up until 9.30pm at least and not only half the selection two hours before...
Read moreHanna is a Korean BBQ 'all-you-can-eat' buffet with a reasonable selection of ready to eat and raw foods, a cosy interior and a sound system playing non-stop K-pop (which is more 'marketing' than music but on the plus side it makes you feel like you're sitting somewhere in Seoul).
If you've never had Korean BBQ before its a style of eating where you cook your own food in small barbecues set into the centre of your table. It's definitely worth trying if you've not done it before or if you like the idea of an interactive, fun meal; you can get a bit creative with the raw ingredients, sauces and seasonings on offer.
The food quality at Hanna is ok for the price but most of the meats are a bit gristly. The restaurant can get pretty smokey so don't come here unless you're prepared to leave smelling like a BBQ.
Adults are $25 each, children are $15 and children under 5 are...
