AJ's Kitchen — Restaurant in South Island

I'm on holidays in Twizel, and we're upset we found this place a few days before leaving!

We got the brunch roll, 2x eggs Benedict, granola and simple B&E. Everything was well presented, well portioned and tasted fantastic.

Granola: "This is the best Granola I've ever had. Good visual appeal too." Eggs Benedict: "Wow these eggs are perfectly cooked! And good bread!" Eggs Benedict (2): "It's just very very good." Bacon & Eggs: "If this bacon was in a sandwich I'd want it less crispy but this is a good level of crisp." Brunch roll: "It comes with a hash brown and two bacons!"

As you can see, we enjoyed our food.

I was a fan of the look of the cafe, with indoor plants and well themed (and maintained) tables. There were additional sauces/condiments available (I made good use of the Tabasco) and plenty of free water.

BEST FAST FOOD IN TOWN! This new cafe has exceeded my exceptions when it comes to the quality of food being served. The new owner of the newly named AJs Kitchen seems a passionate chef excited to share her culinary creations. I had the privilege of trying one of her chicken burgers today and I can honestly say this is one of the nicest burgers I’ve eaten! Even the chips were perfect! Despite being short staffed we still got our food within 10 minutes of ordering. Coffee was lovely too! Truth be told this wasn't our first pick but all the others were closed on a Monday so here we are. It was packed to the brim when we arrived and were told it would take up to 1hr for our food to come. We had the time so we waited and ordered some of the pre-prepared food (sausage rolls/brioche breakfast bun 🍔/ham&cheese croissant 🥐). Only the AJ burger 🍔 (less one patty) was ordered. Order came in 24mins phew! And was good. Perhaps a bit too much one the sweet side with the tomato relish but I don't think anyone would be disappointed with this burger.
