Fresca Mediterranean Cafe, Deli, Grocer, Pizzeria & Bar Rangiora — Restaurant in South Island

After a sleepless night with my baby and 1 year old, I walked down to Fresca yesterday with my children in the pram to get a coffee. I walked in and ordered my coffee. The lovely ladies, after seeing how tired I looked, made my coffee super quickly so I could continue with my walk. The coffee was amazing and exactly what I needed during the walk. When I got home, I looked down at my 1yo and she was holding onto a glass (she must have picked it up quickly while I waited for the coffee). I rang and explained the cafe and they were so lovely and understanding. I took the glass back in today, and they were so lovely. They thanked my for bringing it back so quickly and gave me a coffee as a thank you. Just a little thing, but it means the world to this sleep deprived mum! 11/11/2017 - Was having an afternoon tea with the family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧 at Mediterranean Food Co in Rangiora. Hot chocolate, ice chocolate, fruity herbal tea, a tasty wild berry smoothie (to die for), lasagna and rosemary & garlic potatoes with aioli and balsamic ketchup. 😋😁 This cafe cum retail shop is located on the Conway Lane and Conway Place in Rangiora. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. They have two long tables (each table can seat 6 people, based on 6 seats but could seat another 2 more) and 4 single tables (2-seater). One side (the left side) is where retail area is (Mediterranean foodstuff) and on the right is where the cafe seating area is. This is a licensed cafe and children are welcome. There is an outdoor seating area, and it is a [designated] smoking area (for smokers 🤗).

The service was quite slow for morning coffee even though there were only 3 people in the cafe. I feel the counter food could have more variety eg only cheese scones no other type. Also I had to go up to the counter to remind the staff that my heated food item was sitting there for several minutes before bringing it to me. On another occasion I arrived after 11 am to be told there was almost nothing left in the counter display due to it being Saturday and that I could only sit at a reserved table for 15:mins to drink my coffee before having to vacate.
