Brunch last Sunday turned into a nightmare when part way through eating the vegan Chick'n and Avo Bagel that my daughter and I both ordered, we discovered that they had actually given us both real chicken. I was very careful when ordering, to specify that we wanted the vegan option (and to check whether the aioli was also vegan). The person who served us took our order correctly, so the major error occurred in the kitchen. We were both very upset (especially my adult daughter). In the 15 years I have been vegan nothing like this has ever happened. Admittedly the manager and supervisor dealt with the situation in an exemplary way - they refunded our entire order without me having to ask and apologised on behalf of the staff member who stuffed up, and said that the issue would not be dealt with lightly, for which we are grateful. It was a pretty major mistake and I suggest that they improve their processes to reduce the chance of chefs making mistakes reading orders, e.g. colour-coding orders or making orders with dietary requirements stand out to the chef, so they are alerted to the fact that this is not a typical order. Perhaps a similar situation might not...
Read moreA few weeks ago I came into coffee culture in Rangiora, and noticed the manager yelling at her staff and being a general nuisance, I had overheard her conversation, and she was angrily disciplining one her her male workers, who had parked in a public carpark, she then told him that she would dock his pay if he didn’t move his car, amoungst other things, she also would shout commands and then change them while her staff were busily obeying orders, I think it’s vulgar for a woman to be arguing in public in front of customers, and even threatening to dock employees pays over car parks you don’t even own. I give her a 3/10 for being unpleasant and having over plucked eyebrows, also she’s fat and covets money more then Mr. Crabbs, she’ll find her money doesn’t equate to happiness, she should act with propriety and treat others...
Read moreThe staff member at the counter was a bit confused last time I visited. Ordered an oat milk frappe, eventually after some back and forth was informed that frappes aren't able to be made dairy free? Which is fine, just there is nothing in your signage to reflect this. Changed my order to an oat milk iced latte, this was actually delicious, thank you. Also ordered a dairy free carrot muffin. Was given my order to go, drove all the way to the port hills to discover I'd been given a muffin I couldn't eat (raspberry one, not dairy free). Lesson learned - check the takeaway bag before you leave the shop 🤦♂️
Every other time I've had great service and I do really rate Coffee Culture as a brand, just one unfortunate experience!! Could you please update signage if your frappes are unable to be made dairy...
