GK Eatery — Restaurant in South Island

My partner and I stopped in for lunch at GK Eatery and were absolutely delighted with the entire experience. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the service was simply amazing from the moment we walked in. Our server was attentive, friendly, and very professional. The food was the real highlight. I ordered the beef tartare, which was genuinely one of the best I have ever had – perfectly seasoned and wonderfully fresh. We also shared a side of the fries with garlic aioli, and they were fantastic; beautifully golden, crispy, and completely moreish. There was also a great selection of drinks available, and we enjoyed a lovely, relaxed session alongside our meal. Overall, we were thoroughly impressed with GK Eatery. I tautoko all the other rave reviews, this was one of the best meals of my life. Worth a trip to Motueka (although as I've discovered there are loads of reasons to visit again). Don't overlook the vegetable sides, those were the most delicious carrots I've ever eaten. Service was superb—and the prices are so reasonable given the quality. I love what a wide range of people it attracted.

There were so many thoughtfully considered details to enjoy here. The fit out is remarkable given the bones of the building are so plain, a rectangular box at the front of a supermarket. I especially appreciated how it's been designed for acoustic comfort. Absolutely outstanding. We found this gem at the tail end of our travels around the South Island. Only open for a little over a month, we are certain these two owners have great things coming to them (if it hasnt already arrived). With just Kassandra and Gurpreet running the show, you can expect to see a lot of love in what they do. Our dishes were delightful and thoughtfully curated - the textures, pairings, and amount of food per dish was perfect.
