Horrible customer service. I went to this restaurant and found a table to sit with my friend. After waiting for very long time, we still did not even get the menu and water. So I went to cashier and ask whether I could have a menu and water. They gave me menu but asked me to take the water and cups myself and I did as what they said. I was ready to order and but it took ages for the staff to come to take my order. Finally there was a staff pass closer to me so I smiled and looked at her and raised my hands to call and try to make a food order, the staff she definitely saw me but she looked back at me unfriendly and walked pass me. I don't know the reason. After waiting a while again, I was hungry so I went to cashier to try to make a order. Then two of them yelled at me together and said don't come here! They said they were busy and said I should wait at the table. Ok, I did wait at the table for ages but no one came that is the reason why I came to you guys. I did not even been offered an appologise for wasting me so much time. Finally, someone came to table to take the order for me but she was very rude and impolite and even make fun of my english which makes me feel uncomfortable . It was not a good experience for me there and i defintely will not go back again. The customer service is very horrible there. Besides that, they charge you for the side dish which is very weird for a korea restaurant and they increased the price but with small portion food and poor service. Staff shortage is not the excuse to be rude to customes!!! We paid more money for the restaurant(They increased price again and again) but did not get what we should get. The customer service there...
Read moreUnfortunate experience at KIMCHI this evening. Inexplicably rude owner. I sighted draft beer taps in-house. I enquired about the draft (on-tap) beer and was told by the older Asian waiter (who I got a strong sense from was the owner) that there is no draft beer. That's fine. I chose to not have a beer, instead ordering a non-alcoholic ginger beer. The owner came back to our table, lent over me and quizzed me on the difference between draft and bottled beer. I ventured that draft beer is fuller bodied / tastier due to being stored in larger volume kegs. The owner shook his head and said, "no, the only difference is you get a bit more beer with draft beer per serving" and "it's common sense". I gathered from this bizarre and unprovoked admonishment that I'm a tightarse and an idiot. It was so inexplicable that I was shell shocked. I like the taste of draft beer and choose to forego bottled beer. It was a big turnoff as a customer seeking a nice meal out with family. I would have left were it not for my elderly in-laws and a frigid Queenstown night. The ginger beer and sparkling water took too long to arrive. The sparkling water - the bottle for which we never saw - had an artificial lemon flavour. The food came and my bulgoki was overdone; the beef was dry. My wife's kimchi stew was so salty she surreptitiously added water. I'm advised my in-laws' bimbabs were nice. All the side dishes - contrary to every other Korean restaurant I've been to and indeed KIMCHI's menu's pictures - are extra. I'd advise against this restaurant. Appalling behaviour from the waiting owner and subpar...
Read moreJust had dinner here and I must say... The Best Korean restaurant that Iâve tried in New Zealand! Iâm based in Wellington and have tried the numerous Korean restaurants there, but paled in comparison to this place! Iâd say the price is decent but totally worth it.
What my family and I had was the fried chicken (half), honey soy fried chicken (half), soft tofu stew with seaweed and the beef stir fry noodles (i forgot what it was called ;-;) but they were all amazing! The fried chicken, especially the honey soy is a must try! The chicken was so juicy and very tender, they were also paired with a very nice refreshing side of cabbage I think with a very yummy sauce. I mostly had the chicken but tried the rest of my family dishes. My family and I loved it all. Everything tasted so fresh!
It was my familyâs first time trying kimchi and I wasnât very fond of the kimchi I tried so far in other restaurants but the kimchi at this place tasted really good! Kimchi was served on the side with others for free. They even asked if we wanted more sides, for free! Big bonus!
Customer service was great! They made sure we were looked after, asked how we were going along and if we liked the food. They seemed really attentive, making sure we enjoyed the food. You can taste how much attention and care they put into the food.
I definitely recommend this place as it has a must try of fried chicken and will come again next time I am...
