This ATV tour ended up being one of the best surprises of our whole trip. The man who runs it is genuinely one of the nicest people we’ve ever met, and he was absolutely right when he told us this is the perfect activity to do when other tours get canceled. It was rainy, windy, and muddy—and that made it even more fun.
I’ll admit, I don’t know much about ATVs (I was just along for the ride with the boys, who were excited from the start). But I was so impressed by how well-prepared they made us: coats, boots, pants, gloves, helmets—everything you need so you don’t get muddy or uncomfortable. The location is perfect for ATVs too, with trails winding through beautiful forest, up and down hills, and all around. It’s exciting and thrilling, but not too scary. If the driver knows what they’re doing, great—but even if they take it slow, it’s still enjoyable.
Our guide added so much to the experience by sharing stories about the land and the locals. His knowledge, energy, and kindness made the whole thing unforgettable. The boys even said they wished they’d booked this two days in a row before we left Queenstown.
If you want something adventurous, unique, and surprisingly perfect for a rainy day, this is the...
Read moreMy wife, 5-year old daughter and I absolutely loved our guided, 1 hour self-drive tour. Stefan, the guide/ instructor was incredibly friendly, polite, professional, awesome with my daughter and managed to persuade my wife to have a go at the driving too (of course, she loved it!). His instruction meant I was well prepared to drive (I have driven one of these buggies a few times, so I was happy to get going) but he also managed to make my wife feel confident to give it a go, so thank you!
I was really pleasantly surprised by the amount of distance we covered in the one hour drive and managed to almost summit one of the nearby peaks, on the company's private land, with absolutely spectacular views. Being at least OK driving, Stefan didn't hold back on the route we took, so I was nicely challenged too.
My daughter (who's pretty brave, to be fair) was happy to be sat in the back as my partner and I took turns driving, and we heard lots of giggling noises throughout so she loved it too! If we are in Queenstown again, I will be back!...
Read moreI wish I was able to give more than 5 stars! My partner Hamish is in a wheelchair and despite not being an ‘accessible’ activity, the whole team went above and beyond from start to finish to ensure Hamish was able to join in on the fun. Sam in the office made the afternoon possible for us and answered any questions we had. Dave, our guide helped Hamish in and out of the bus and another offsider helped us to get Hamish into the buggy. Dave checked periodically that Hamish was okay and ensured he felt safe and secure during the whole trip. With a group of 12, we had family members from 10-70+ and not a single one of us didn’t enjoy it, including the oldies. So many laughs and big smiles as we were covered in mud (and some drenched in water). Definitely a highlight of our trip and not an activity you...
