Whoever is incharge of hiring people at this workplace needs to take a good long hard look at the operations of the site and discuss better with investors and CEO about how they're doing things. I Went in for two coffees today and they were incredibly understaffed. The employee serving people was a lovely overworked woman in her must've been 70s doing her absolute best not to break down emotionally, who looked like she needed to have a cup of tea in her garden while watching her grand kids play games or something else relaxing like theyre able to do 5 years prior to that age in retirement. Not be subject to running around a workplace keeping a business together while she's doing her absolute best with worn out body parts. She was incredibly kind, caring and apologetic for the delays. But if a business can't attract staff to work for them, maybe that says something about the business management strategies and behavior. Hats off to the woman though. I couldn't do what she was putting up with. Mcdonalds management and investors, ffs do better. Your image was originally a family friendly restaurant. Not running people into the ground...

I, from time to time am willing to pay a little more than I usually would for something I expect and hope to be a little bit better than the average usual Mc basic burger.. Paying more than $14 for a single meal... I expect it to be put together properly with a little more care than a hamburger. But the meat was merely half on the bun and the sauce was primarily on one side of the top bun. I expect that everyone expects better when paying for a "premium" burger. The chips were satisfactory as per usual the mere minimum (as per proper company standards) And drink was as expected for the syrup based coke. Service was quick and don't waste any time on etiquette, which is fine as long as it isn't rude (for a drive thru) Sin future perhaps give a little more care when putting together the costlier burgers, and just take an extra second to make the basic ones too, it's not hard to either flip the top onto the base in correct place, nor is it hard to place pattie in center of bun. Supervisors just encourage the basics.

Read moreStaff were alright, however despite having ordered a grilled chicken aioli wrap for my mother they had given us a crispy aioli wrap, despite even the grill sticker and reciept saying it should've been grilled. Wasn't fun to bring home dinner for mum and watch her get an allergic reaction to the crispy stuff because McDonalds Kaiapoi messed up our order. I'm only glad she took a single bite because any more and her mouth and tongue would be swollen enough for hospitalization. My father returned to the store and apparently they had no grilled chicken left, yet instead of communicating the kitchen staff thought it would be fine to serve the wrong product. However we did get some compensation from one of the managers who seemed very kind and apologetic.
I understand that mistakes happen but this is unacceptable, Kaiapoi McDs really has a quality and communication problem. Everytime my family comes in through the drive-thru there is always at least something missing. We don't eat fast food much, but McDonalds kaiapoi has disappointed us every time.
