This is my favourite pizza in town, the crust is thin and crispy, just the way it should be, and the slices are huge. Love the fresh ingredients, great sauce, tasty cheese, and toppings that actually work together. Love that you can grab a big slice on the go or order a whole one to share. On top of that, the staff are super friendly and the service is always quick, which makes the whole experience even better. Thanks! I’ll definitely be back.

Had a drive down from Christchurch a few weeks ago, decided to stop by this place for Dinner. Best decision ever. Cozy place, quiet and comfortable, owners are very friendly. Love the surrounding of the pizza place, classic feeling. Pizza was yummy! We end up ordering more for the road! Will come back!

We’re total food lovers, while some people eat to live, I’d say we live to eat! Life’s too short not to enjoy the food you love. Tried Sals Pizza in Timaru and wow 🤩 the pizza was thin, super generous with toppings, and the service was so friendly. No wonder we keep coming back for more! 🍕💛

Despite being a massive Sal’s fanatic during my years in Wellington, I must rate this particular branch of Sal’s very, very poorly. For unknown reasons, every aspect of their operation seems to be quite terrible: sometimes they are closed during business hours without any explanation, sometimes you go to the store and ask for a pepperoni and you are told that they have run out of pepperoni and that you should come back in half an hour, only to be told that too was a mistake and there is no pepperoni till the next day. But worse of all is the bizarrely low quality of these pizzas and knots. It is not really quite clear how a franchise so famous for its incredible pizza quality has opened a branch in Timaru that produce such unbelievably low quality pizzas. Pizzas are often either undercooked or overcooked; out of five pizzas I bought from the place 4 of them were so undercooked you could identify all individual components of the pizza! Garlic knots are always so hard you can throw them into a window to break it. The management is extraordinarily poor in the store, in every aspect. It is such a huge pity really, because many Sal’s fan who had to go all the way to Christchurch to enjoy these fine slices were extremely excited for Sal’s to open a branch in Timaru. Out of loyalty I bought from the store 5 times, hoping for things to improve by eventually gave up in total dismay. Cannot recommend to anyone interested in even minimum quality of pizza. Sorry Sal’s: you might have to look at this store’s management and performance a bit...

On the 15th of June I placed an order via delivereasy to be delivered at 6:50pm. Little did I know, this would be a life altering mistake. $79 for 2 half pizzas (pepperoni and nonna), 3 garlic knots and mozzarella sticks. Where do I begin? Both pizzas smelled like someone had spilled coffee all over them, the bases were undercooked and doughy. I couldn't taste a single ingredient on either pizza, it just tasted sour, not even the cheese tasted like cheese. The garlic knots were incredibly dense and sat in my stomach like a brick. The mozzarella sticks were just underwhelming and cold. Ultimately we ended up throwing it out as it was just inedible. I could've gotten a better pizza from the Pak n Save freezer. Especially for $79 I was expecting something fantastic. I've had New York style pizzas before so I know what it's supposed to be and this is not it. But you may ask, why did I wait almost a month to leave a review? Did I leave a complaint? No, I was going to just leave it and not order again, but after a week I started having bad dreams about that pizza and terrible it was, I have this constant scenario of the pak n save stick-man taunting me with his better quality frozen pizzas, it leaves me waking up in cold sweats every night and I just have to get this off my chest before this gets worse.

Sal's pizza? More like how do you...

Rang in an order was told it would be 10 minutes, drove down, waited 20 minutes in store only to be told that my order had been messed up. The pizza itself had caved in apparently. No big deal! They just had to restart the whole thing. Got them to remake my wings while they did the pizza. I didn't want cold wings. They agreed to redo them. They gave me 2 garlic knots and a 25% off voucher for my next pizza. Waited another 20 minutes after that for my order. 50 minutes in total after being told 10 minutes. Got home, pizza was alright, ordered half and half pepperoni with extra mushroom. They only put mushroom in the middle, so felt kind of ripped off. Other half was sausage with extra onion. The onion was in quite massive chunks and it didn't really cook properly. The bits chucked on top of the sausage were completely raw. The pizza came to 37.50 so massively overpriced for the quality. Was still okay. Wings tasted really nice but were quite dry and overdone. The blue cheese dipping sauce was really good. I liked it with the chunks of blue cheese but my partner hated it. Whole thing came to $57.50. The staff clearly tried and werw very nice in store. Hopefully they improve from here as they haven't...
