Mews Cafe — Restaurant in Upper Harbour

I'm from across the ditch, and my 91 yr old Mum always brings me to this place... The owner Yon is the best! He is so helpful to my mum,he even directs traffic as she reverses out, and he's the first one there to get her walker out of the boot.. My mum regularly drives a 101 yr old friend of hers to "The Mews" for a cuppa, and he really looks after them..We all feel like they're in the best of hands.. I have a fond memory of the owner clapping his hands and singing happy birthday to my mum, who turned 91 in early March.. It was a real treasure! Thank you, ppl of the Mews. You really are the best!!

Awesome! service very good, kai good, atmosphere good. It’s a bakery/cafe really, but they’ve definitely leaned in towards the cafe mode more & do a good job of it. Well worth the stop in for a feed vs the bakery up the way. The Mews Breakfast is very good, standard & straight fried mushrooms but that’s fine bacon & eggs is what it is, two toasts though most places only give 1 with two eggs, haven’t tried other menu options yet. Cheers sure to see you again when in the area. UPDATED 4 - 5 Sep 2019 after a few more visits, bakery kai is great, coffees are exceptional and made promptly, really enjoying the regular breakfasts there now....

I hung out at Mews cafe for about 3 hours while my car was being fixed nearby and I really recommend this place. The day I visited the EFTPOS machine was broken, but rather than closing up, the owner kept serving customers because he didn't want to let them down. He put faith in customers that they would come back and settle their bills sometime in the future.
