Soul Meat (Japanese Wagyu BBQ & Hotpot) — Restaurant in Upper Harbour

One star. One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in recent years.

I ordered from Soul Meat Albany through Hungry Panda as part of a value combo and decided to give it a try since I live within walking distance. Unfortunately, that convenience did not translate into quality.

The only redeeming item was the udon with prawns—not amazing, but passable enough to earn the single star.

Everything else was seriously disappointing: • Stir fry wagyu: Honestly unpleasant. The taste was off, and the meat quality was highly questionable. I couldn’t finish it—it had a strange, almost off-putting flavor. • Charcoal BBQ skewers: Both the size and quality were unacceptable. I’d be surprised if there was more than 50g of meat total, and what was there was extremely fatty and low-grade. • Katsu: The portion was shockingly small—barely half a chicken breast, if that.

Overall, the food lacked freshness, the meat tasted off, and the portions were tiny. Considering all this, I won’t be ordering from here again and would not recommend...

Had an amazing time last time! We ordered the Exquisite BBQ wagyu set and it was so worth it and so delicious. Special mention to their dumplings which seemed homemade and so tasty.
