Coromandel Top Town Takeaways — Restaurant in Waikato

The rudest experience I have ever had in Coromandel. Staff (and boss apparently) sitting outside smoking in full uniform. Swearing to each other as we walked in with our 5 year old child. We made a comment regarding how expensive they were ($9 for a snapper) compared to Auckland prices where the staff sat out front made a rude remark about us going back to Auckland then. 6 pm on a winters Tuesday, 2 friendly young ladies working the shop. First thing you notice is the extensive takeaway menu, and then how clean the shop is. Ordered 3 pieces of Snapper, 1 scoop of chips and 2 pineapple fritters. Order was prompt, given there was a big order in front of us. On arrival at home were pleasantly surprised by the very generous portions of everything. Batter light and crisp, fish not overcooked, very moist, chips spot on, and pineapple fritters were amazing....

First, this takeaway restaurant is now called Top Town Takeaways. While the location is nothing fancy, the staff was very nice and there's a little bit of seating just outside. We took our food on the road with us and I wish we had stayed to tell the staff how much we enjoyed it. My wife had the fried mussels.
