BEWARE GST SCAM - they claim prices on menu are GST exclusive For drinks I ordered a Coke Zero - it was served half a glass full - I asked why wasn’t there any ice in my coke? At least that would’ve made it full - bad omen 1 We ordered 1 appetiser and 2 mains The mains came out first and then the appetiser last - bad omen 2 One of the mains ordered was basil and garlic whole snapper - when it came out it was in fillet pieces. When i asked why it isn’t a whole fish they said none of their fish dishes are served whole. (When clearly their menu states it does) I asked how much was it? They replied you are getting the first table discount why are you complaining? -(treated like second rate customer) After some uncomfortable discussion we returned it and ordered something else. This was because they said the waitress should have told me that none of their fish come out in whole. Clearly this did not happen - bad omen 3 Lastly when i went to pay, the lady behind the counter typed something into the register pulled out a calculator and charged me $74.04. I paid then asked for the GST receipt (Just in case). She then printed the bill which showed 65.50 hand wrote 74.04 on the bill then gave it to me - bad omen 4 I asked why did i pay the handwritten value on the docket of 74.04 and not the digital receipt value of 65.50. She answered and said their menus are GST exclusive and so I needed to pay GST on top (8.54) as shown on the bill. When is said the 8.54 on the bill said “GST total in sale” meaning the 65.50 includes GST of 8.54 - she replied the menus are GST exclusive and everyone pays GST on top like how I have been charged and to stop complaining. Their menus do not state their prices in the menu are GST exclusive. - 8.54 is clearly the GST portion of the 65.50 charged. Coz of it was + GST they should’ve charged an additional $9.83….(scam) They cannot get away with this - justice needs to be served to the customers. Fair to say the conversation was tense and stressful Luckily 2 other customers heard my conversation and refused to pay the GST double charge so they didn’t and encouraged me to enforce a refund for the overpayment I continued the argument and she said she didnt want to continue arguing with me and said they needed the table back for the next customers so took $3 from the tip and another waitress pulled $5 from her purse took up the fight stating i was in the wrong as they charge everyone + GST like they charged me and why i made such a fuss… she only stopped harassing me when i asked her to work out the GST component on the bill please see the pics and beware of their scam This company needs to be reported to the IRD to conduct a thorough GST / Tax audit - they are circumventing their computer sales system’s and charging more than legally allowed Lesson always ask for a GST receipt from them - don’t blindly pay and leave I encourage any and all previous customers to check their receipts (if you have) ask for refund if you have been illegally overcharged

The diner can be a bit harder to find as there are no signs outside saying “3 tigers” and you have to walk through a cafe and a gelato place. When we were greeted by the server we were taken to the cafe section which they made into a make shift diner for night time and it seemed to be for smaller groups. It was really awkward and odd to see the cafe like this. We were guided to the cafe area instead of the main dining area as we were a smaller group. Felt like they were being cheap about where to put the smaller groups. Had to request a menu for food and drinks each at two different times as they hadn’t given it to use at time of seating. Ordered a lemon lime bitter which was just sweet, no bitters or no sourness and a lime Soda which just tasted like sparkling water with lemon slices. No sweetness and didn’t even taste like lime. Each drink was $8. Food was odd as well. Got tropical fried rice which was meh and came with salad which was only consisted of cabbage, no dressing, no other veges except carrot deco. Crispy pork looked like a newbie had attempted chicken pork katsu and the sauce tastes like watered down teriyaki sauce. Nothing special but was around $35. They also had orange slices and parsley as a garnish for everything, including drinks. Having a lemon like bitter with parsley floating around was really odd. The sodas were served in a beer glass, which is just plain weird and again felt cheap. Would definitely not come back as the food is not worth the $30+ for each dish. Would recommend others to steer away if not looking for a disappointing experience.

Dining at 3 Tigers Ponsonby was an unforgettable experience from start to finish! The food was absolutely amazing every dish we tried was bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and made with such care. The menu offers a fantastic mix of modern and traditional flavors, and everything we ordered was fresh, delicious, and perfectly seasoned. The staff was exceptional friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making our visit special. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time, offering great recommendations and checking in just the right amount. The atmosphere was vibrant yet cozy with a stylish interior that made the evening even more enjoyable. From the food to the service to the overall vibe, everything was amazing! If you’re in Auckland and looking for an outstanding dining experience, **3 Tigers Ponsonby is a must-visit**. We can’t wait to come back! **10/10!** -

1/The waitress was eating her lunch behind the till - unprofessional, staff should be eating in a staff area and not where we dine. 2/We arrived 5min before our booking and was seated in the Cafe area for the whole booking because we were early. 3/The waitress took our drinks order but didn't know what speights was and even though she wrote it down whilst looking at the menu, she came back and asked if it was beer. 4/We placed our order only for her to say there was no duck, lamb, Sirloin or salmon which should have been disclosed when she gave the menus. Only left us the option of chicken, beef or prawn. 5/She also said we could take any left overs home and only after we recieved our food said no we can't now. Which is interesting because we are paying for this food so why not? 6/Looking over the menu we had a few questions about some of the meals ingredients due to allergies but she claimed she didn't understand English - perhaps learn it or have a server who understands English serve us. 7/The curry was charged at $35.00 and was super small it didn't even come with rice, you had to buy that separately, definitely not worth the price. 8/Probably the worst Thai food we have ever eaten in terms of flavour and portions. 9/We didn't get the full discount but couldn't be bothered with her not understanding what a discount is. 10/She had no change in the till, she asked a customer who I assume is a regular for change - meanwhile 4 customers are waiting to be served while she ran off looking for some.

Overall a poor experience mainly due to the service but also due to the poor food value. Will not...
