Iâm not one to write reviews unless i really need to, the experience I had here today feels like a review is needed. A review that can hopefully help your team.
my elderly grandma (86) and i came in today for lunch, it was moderately busy, still lots of tables on offer. My grandma has some issues getting up and down on tables due to her arthritis, and since all the coushin seats were gone, we took the big table by the wall so she could use the wall to get into her chair and give her some extra support. We sat at the table and waited around 15 minutes, only for someone to come and tell us to move as there has now been a booking at that table, not an inconvenience for me, but my grandma who has trouble walking. We picked a table up front, where we had to wait there too, my grandma ended up flagging down a FOH to come serve us, where she expressed how she felt about the wait.
My grandma doesnât eat big portions, and therefore wanted something from the kids menu, itâs as simple as that.We were told itâs for â13 and underâ⌠It takes one nice worker to say âWell, you know we will do this for youâ Thatâs what makes certain places more special, when they go above and beyond for customers. I understand this rule but it just doesnât bode well for our elderly community, or simply someone who isnât so hungry. Nana didnât get her kids pancakes and instead got some fries. Disappointed to say the very least.
Overall, the food was great, the atmosphere was fantastic, but regarding service, we felt we didnt get any good service, which is upsetting for first...
Read moreFood & coffee quite nice, black doris plum cake was devine. Most of the staff were lovely. However the red headed lady on the till was very condescending and rude, snatched the menu off us when we decided to order counter food which we paid for and sat down outside and enjoyed.
We ordered a second round of coffees while we were at our table and a lovely girl put our order through and brought tasty coffees back shortly after.
On the way out we went to pay for these two coffees and the aforementioned redhead couldnt understand what we wanted to pay for even though she read out the exact coffee order to us. She was rolling her eyes and snapping back in a snarky tone and saying there is no name or number on the order even though the waitress never asked us for one. She asked multiple questions that made no sense, and certainly didn't get any better when I pointed out she wasn't being very helpful, her attitude only got worse.
Perhaps consider taking her off such a customer focused position of she is unable to understand simple orders. Better suited to a back of house role where she can keep her stinkface and shirty attitude to herself. Wonder if the other reviews regarding service are about...
Read moreDrive around the bays to the stylish upmarket suburb of Seatoun , where the Fort Dorset army base used to be. Unfortunately no signs of the base today but the charming village still remains. Nestled amongst the village shops is this quaint cafe. Friendly welcoming staff greet you on arrival. With a courtyard offering alfresco dining and evening meals.Great spot for summer dining. During the day there is cabinet food and a blackboard menu. They cater for young families with a changing table and toys. The bentwood chairs are very comfortable and on the tables are cute retro condiment sets. The tamarillo muffin looked appealing but it was dry and condensed however the pear crumble muffin was delectable. I personally found the homemade chai latte very milky and lacking the flavour of spices. A full bar menu and wine list is available for more...
