Would give 0 stars if I could . I came in for brunch today for a friends birthday and was not impressed at all. First of all they made me feel like bringing my baby (sleeping in her pram) was a nuisance to them. They then wouldn’t let us move tables because it was quite busy (restaurant was 30% full). Then they took everyone’s order except one person. The food was average. The mimosa we pressed came in a large glass which tasted like a watered down orange juice with a splash of bubbles in it. Then they cleared the plates away whilst we were still eating- and when questioned about it the girl said she ‘had to’. Then they made multiple checks to see if we were done to try and move us on despite the cafe being fairly unoccupied. When we left we gave feedback and again was told the issue was that I brought my baby (how dare I?!) and then they just walked away when giving further feedback. So hence the public post. Read moreCoffee was hot, owner was cold. Got caught out in the southerly rain on a training ride. Stopped for warmth. Sat near the door and as I was soaking wet there was water on the floor. The owner was visibly irritated and stared with what I took to be hostility. The chairs are plastic, the floor is laminate so easily sorted. My experience of real Italian cafes and restaurants is that they are run by professional people who take pride in providing a welcome to all customers. We had words, and his hostile look was vocalised. He stated clearly that I should of sat outside. (1 degree Southerly...). Clearly this guy hasn't thought about what working in hospitality is about. (They’re inexpensive at the moment) add more butter to the mushrooms (were on the drier side) toast bread longer or add it to the side without the eggs on top (was soggy and falling apart.) refill your sauce bottles
Also ordered two of the cabinet sweets to take away, which was served in a fish and chip burger bag? Found that odd and tacky.
Otherwise service was prompt and appreciated - could do with some brighter lighting, is quite dark inside, especially with the ceiling...
