Placed my order online and went to pick up, went I walked into the restaurant and standed in front of the bar, your waitress saw me but she decided to continue making the table, then you Mr tall guy with a white shirt came out, we made eye contact, you showed me your poker face and said nothing to me,as you stepped into the bar, I decided to greet you by saying hello as I was not sure how awkward this could get it I continue to say nothing. I picked up the food, I thanked you - while you decided not to thank me. When I got home I found you have given me 2 naans instead of 3 (2 curry dishes come with 1 free naan, on top of that we have ordered 2, therefore 2+1=3). I called and spoke to you Mr tall guy at the front wiht a shirt, I asked for the manager, you said the manager was busy, I told you that I was not happy with the service, you said sorry but you guys are very busy today, I then told you that you guys haven't given me enough naan, you told me that I can pick it up when I order next time, I then asked you to stay on the phone while I check with the family to see if I need to come back for it (so we have enough to eat). After that all I heard was you talking to people, and then you hung up on me. I called you back straight away for 3 times, none of these calls were picked up. Oh and by the way the food was pretty average, the CTM was way too colourful.
So basically I think you guys ARE really busy, too busy to deliver a standard customer service. This is my first time buying your food, and unfortunately it will be the last time. Im sure other local businesses in Upper Hutt will be happy to be kept busy as well as making srue their customers are well looked after. I will go back to my usual Indian place at Main Street, they are better than you. And as for the naan that you owe me, you...
Read moreI had the pleasure of attending an anniversary celebration at Bombay House, and I have to say—it was one of the most enjoyable evenings I’ve had in a long time! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, but what truly made the event memorable was the exceptional food. Every dish that came out was a masterpiece. From the starters to the desserts, the flavors were rich, authentic, and beautifully presented.
You could tell that a lot of care went into the preparation. The food wasn’t just delicious—it was an experience. Guests were going back for seconds (and thirds!), and there was not a single item that didn’t impress. It was clear that Bombay House had raised the bar for Indian cuisine.
If this is the standard they bring to a private celebration, I can only imagine how amazing their regular dining service must be. I’ve already recommended them to several friends and will definitely be coming back myself. Top-notch...
Read moreI had an incredible experience at Bombay house 39 (UPPER HUTT )The food was a burst of authentic Indian flavors—rich, aromatic, and perfectly spiced. The butter chicken was creamy and indulgent, while the vegetable biryani was fragrant with layers of spice and texture. Each dish felt like a labor of love, with fresh ingredients and balanced flavors that catered to both spice lovers and those who prefer milder tastes. The front-of-house staff elevated the experience even further. They were warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the menu, offering spot-on recommendations and checking in just the right amount. Their knowledge of the dishes made ordering a breeze, and their friendly demeanor created a welcoming atmosphere. Service was prompt yet unhurried, making us feel valued and relaxed. Highly recommend this gem for anyone craving exceptional Indian cuisine and top-notch...
