Today, I placed an order for pick up at Nandos Lower Hutt via Uber Eats at 12.20pm. Estimated ready for pick up 25-30 min.
Arrived at 12.55pm for pick up as per advised via Uber eats app "order is ready for pick up". However, this was not the case.
5-Stars to Eunice (staff) who was at Dock station taking orders, fielding queries like mine when it came to delay in order being ready for pick up, and clearing tables in between. Eunice was cool, calm, and collective with her customer service. Eunice did her utmost best to find out what the delay was. Came back to advise they didn't have enough chicken ready at the time due to influx of online and in-store orders. Went to check with manager on duty today who came out to confirm the time delays with me.
0-stars to the Manager on duty today at lunch time. It was clear she was not handling the influx of in-store and online orders. In future, don't run off the processes that are clearly not working and it is clear you could not think-on-your-feet to be solutions-focussed. You changed the tone of our conversation with response to me being "What do you want me to do about it love". And when I asked you to check your tone - I am not here for that. You roll your eyes and walk away saying "You just have to wait".
Charming! I suggest Manager on duty take notes from Eunice on how to keep your cool when under pressure.
Order received 1.13pm by a different staff member who was polite.
It's only because of Eunice's good customer service that Nandos Lower Hutt has a star to this review.

We ordered our food on the app, waited 30 minutes then a member of staff came over and told us broccoli was sold out.. why did it take that long to tell us? We were the only ones in the restaurant. We then asked for corn but that was also sold out and 'had been for a month'. We settled on rice. After about 40 minutes we received our halloumi, which was undercooked, we then received the chicken, garlic bread and chips, but still no rice. The chicken tasted of chemicals/medicinal and was by far the worst chicken I've ever eaten at nandos, the chips were good as was the garlic bread. The sauces available were very dirty and don't look like they are cleaned or maintained. After we finished our meal our rice had still not arrived. We didn't want the rice then as it had taken too long and we were ready to go. The manager said we couldn't refund the difference and kept trying to get us to have the rice or take it home with us. She claimed that the chef had left it in the microwave and forgotten about it. Eventually we decided we would have a sealed bottle of Nandos sauce instead of a side, at least this couldn't be dirty!
