We wanted to go out for a nice meal for my mothers bday, came over from Christchurch to celebrate and unfortunately was not what we had hoped for. The servers were lovely but it was busy and they were up against it, unfortunately were unable to give their best because service of food was slow. We had placed drinks and food orders within 10 mins of arrival, awesome..... but that is were it stopped. We had asked for all food (starters and mains) to arrive at the same time. Childs food came out in about 30mins along with starters after order placement but we had to wait about an hour for our mains to arrive. So Child was restless and still had to wait for their dessert. After waiting another 20mins when we had finished our mains, we decided to give up and pay to leave, the sunday then made it out to the pass. We paid and left. The price was on the high side and because of the the long wait time, the food just did not feel like it was worth it, especially after the long wait times, almost like we should have spent the time at home and cooked ourselves. Brutal review but honest, I don't think we will be...

The pulled lamb burger was also very good except for the Tzatziki sauce which tasted as though it had sugar in it. When I quizzed the waiter he told me that he'd watched the chef making it and there was definitely no sugar added, so I asked him to ask the chef why it was sweet. After more questioning I finally asked him to find out exactly what the ingredients were. For me there was a sweet taste which there definitely should not be; It's a Greek specialty. Anyway it turned out that instead of adding mint he actually added mint sauce for the mint flavour. Yuk!!! Please dear chef would you please GOOGLE a genuine Tzatziki sauce recipe and make that. Your pulled lamb burger will then be ...
ย ย ย Read moreMy friend and I just wanted to get something for dinner as we were starving, and most of the places we wanted to go to were closed. The place wasn't packed that night, so we can't understand why the staff couldn't accommodate us or even direct us to a table. We spent a while waiting for someone to give us the menu, and probably a bit longer to place our order. There was a guy who went to chat with some customers but never came to even ask us what we wanted. The other lady said she'd come back to us, but never did. Were they understaffed or just not talking to each other? Anyway, we ended up just paying for a cup of coffee I've had while waiting for nothing. To be fair, the coffee was alright, but can't say anything about their food as we couldn't stand the treatment we were getting. Best go somewhere else...there are other great options to go to in Greymouth. Certainly not going back to this...
