Had an awful experience at Browne St Cafe today. Have been there a number of times for coffees, food & beers when staying nearby. Today we went by to use one of these vouchers we were given to grab two coffees takeaway for a drive upto Silverdale. The manager who we have meet a couple of times in the past was happy to see us at first, then once we presented the voucher and placed our order, it all went sour. He explained that the voucher was only eligible if we brought some food, and we couldn't buy one coffee and then get another for free. This is despite the voucher clearly stating "complimentary coffee with any purchase". One coffee was our purchase, the other was going to be our complimentary coffee. He proceeded to explain why the initiative was in place, and highlighting he was the manager, he knew how it worked. I told him we have been before with these vouchers and done the two coffee order, and he proceeded to say that it shouldn't have been allowed and wanted us to point out the staff member who allowed it previously. I was tempted to bite back and highlight the wording of the voucher, and lack of specifics on it - no T&Cs or expiry date, this is not my problem etc, but his slightly raised voice was enough of a scene in my eyes. Eventually he said he would make an exception, like he was doing us some sort of favour, and accepted my order. He then walked off and with a raised voice and made clear to staff that these vouchers were not designed for 'buy one coffee, get one free', and not to allow it under any circumstances moving forward. I was left very disappointed with the way he handled it. As repeat customers, it was atrocious, but even if we were first timers, imagine our first impression? The vouchers say 'complimentary coffee with any purchase', with no other T&Cs on it. I know that we have one voucher left, and after today's appealing service, we will be going back to order one coffee, and get one complimentary coffee. If the manager is there and wants to debate it, I will happily, and will make sure it is shared with a wider audience next time. Browne St Cafe should own what they promote in the community, and not ever make customers feel the way you made me feel today. I would suggest you redesign these vouchers that are distributed at local accommodation providers, and honour all existing ones. One very disappointed & embarrassed customer.

Was fairly busy when me and my Mum arrived, but the staff quickly found us a table we could sit at where it was reserved but not for a few hours. Really found that welcoming and professional. Mum and I both enjoyed our coffees, I had a smoothie that was a bit funky tasting, but I think that was more to do with all the healthy stuff in it. Presented in a really cool way with interesting garnishes. The food was amazing. Loved the Huntsman Breakfast, filling, and the way they do their hasbrowns like polenta chips was an awesome and original twist. If you can always add the cowboy beans and pork cider sausage, both were awesome, wholesome, and flavourful. Mum loved her skillet baked eggs. Everything was rich in flavor. Staff were lovely, and all it took was a quick glance to get their attention. Food came promptly as did water and coffees. Their playlist rocked, and they had a cool light EDM pop vibe to it that made the whole place feel energetic and vibey. It's pricey doubt but worth the experience, and when I asked if I could takeaway my beans and scrambled eggs on toast, they even put the beans in a little takeaway coffee cup. The cutest thing ever. Loved it and would definitely go again. I'm keen to try their saffron white chocolate truffle French toast

We had a miso mushroom dish and wagyu beef mince on toast. Sorry to be honest.... I can't taste much... maybe I expected too much. I can't taste any miso flavor, and it tastes like cooked mushrooms without seasoning. No other sauce. I wish they could put some miso glazed on it.it would be better. -wagyu beef mince dish: taste like just normal stirred fry beef mince with soysauce and onion no other season. Not very special dish... The bread was toated well but i don't know... it is thick bread, i can't taste that much with butter with bread. It would be better if you put more butter on it or change to tin bread or other type of bread. Seriously, if you have put some cheese on it , it would taste more. they had a nice atmosphere and service. if the food is more flavor, it would be really a go-to place.

I just walked out of this place feeling mad. I ordered a burger and I asked if they could add spinach and mushrooms they said yes. They brought it back without these items added. So I asked for it to be added. The lady just came back with no mushrooms and just some spinach. I looked a the whole plate. It was actually very small. The chips were without any sauce. The service was awful. I felt I didn't want to eat that but I wanted to give it a second chance and order something else. The lady called the manager who came with an attitude and was so grumpy at me when I told him what happened:he told me "you can't change your mind again if you order something else cause this burger is a waste !" I was mad! How can you pretend that a customer spend money in food that is not appealing and with the worst customer service? I have been very nice in the way I was asking and I felt I have been treated with no respect in the way the manager was talking to me. I just said I didn't want to eat. Paid for the tea and walked out. Will never come back and I will make sure to let everyone I know that this place is not worth it. They don't value customers and they just think...
