TLDR: pros: the waiting staff the atmosphere the cacao drink
Cons: everything else not listed on the pro section above.
I had heard so much about this place that I was excited to visit, but boy was i surprised...and not in a positive way. Although the food was served fast, the taste was rather blend. The omelette I had was ok but nothing to be excited about. The toast however tasted stale and aged. It felt like it was on its last hour before getting spoil. The only thing of my meal which was good was the cacao drink, bit honestly, but 20 Cordobas less, i could get the same from the streets and probably an even better meal.
Then I took a peek at the kitchen staff, and boy was there another surprise. The kitchen staff wasn't wearing masks; wait i lie, they were wearing it but on their chins. EVERYONE IN THE KITCHEN STAFF, NO EXCEPTIONS (for management, we came here Thursday September 30, 2021, between 9:30am and 10:30am). It is currently a regulation in Granada and Nicaragua as a whole for restaurant kitchen staff to be wearing their masks, and the staff here seems to be above the law.
I honestly would say that the only great thing about it was the waiting staff, the two guys we had were pretty cool and attentive, they probably would be one of the few reasons we come back again but nothing else.
If you crave to pay for a sad meal, then this is absolutely your place to be. Otherwise, go to the open market, find a hole on the wall restaurant, and eat there,...
Read moreI'm here at correlito now. Usually, when we order from other restaurants, we can get French fries in place of tostones. I like tostones, but sometimes they are too heavy. Every other restaurant we go to happily makes the substitution. At corralito, they won't do it. I talked to the manager, and all he could tell me is that it's the policy of the owner. Literally every other restaurant in Granada will make the substitution. It's honestly not a big deal. (In fact, fries are easier to make than tostones). Anyway, I'm obviously a little disappointed that Corralito can't do something easy (super easy) like substitute French fries...
Read moreThe best breakfast experience I’ve had on my entire trip through Central America. After speaking with a local, he recommended this restaurant and it did not disappoint. The service was incredible, the food was served quickly and tasted amazing. There were a couple flies around my table so the waiter (without me asking) brought candles to get rid of them. If you’re looking for a breakfast place in Granada, this is...
