I had a horrible experience at the Orchid restaurant yesterday. I visit here often and I went in yesterday to dine with Family. After the Family Dinner, I went into my Car to drive off and unfortunately for me I could not see behind me clearly while i was trying to reverse and get a bit of clearance to leave the premises. The parking area was really dark and I was relying on the support of the Security/Gate man who was supposed to help me look out for any obstacle behind me, as with most parking spaces in Lagos at night. Apparently the Gate man was drunk and he could not signal me to stop as I was reversing till I hit a Mercedez Benz car parked behind me in the Dark. Well I had to pay the owner of the Car to fix the Damage on the front light of his Car without any show of concern or support from the Management of the restaurant. I accept full responsibility for the damage but I had hoped to see some level of concern or empathy from the Management seeing that they have a poor-lighted parking area and they have a Drunk as security. I did not even get a sorry from the management/staff. Why isn’t there a “Non-smoking/Drinking policy” enforced for all their staff. Totally unfair I was involved in something that could have been easily avoided if the Security guy was in a right state of mind to help me navigate the Dark Parking area. I am wondering why a restaurant would have a drunk person lead and exit people out of their service experience. Does this outfit really care about the customers or is it just all about the money? It really shows how much they care and Value the customers who...
Read morei usually love coming to this restaurant with my family. the ambience is nice, the food is reasonably priced and it’s also delicious. however, i had the worst service ever when i came here for my moms birthday last night. the first waiter that seated us and gave us our menus never came back to check on us, and i guess he switched with his colleague to serve us. this second waiter in question kept bringing us the wrong order despite writing down our order. he literally brought the wrong thing TWICE. then the last waiter who attended to us took 15 mins to bring a bottle of water, and when i asked her to pack up the rest of my food, literally half the food was gone. i was very shocked. i kept asking where the rest of it was and she said that was all of it. for context, i ordered the pad thai (which has a large portion serving) and took about three spoons from the dish before i asked for it to be packed up, and what she brought back barely filled the small takeaway pack halfway which is quite frankly ridiculous. i can’t believe the waiters are stealing peoples meals when they’re asked to be packed up. so, if you come here and can’t finish your meal, i suggest you ask them to bring you the takeaway pack for you to pack it...
Read moreMy first visit to Ikeja branch of Orchid house. I have visited their VI & Apapa branch. My family and I absolutely love visiting Orchid house for authentic Thai food. Food - They have wide variety of options in veg and non - veg. Special menu for vegetarians made me really happy(coz I am a vegetarian 🙂) . Few dishes that I absolutely recommend are - Vegetarian dishes : Tofu salad roll, spring rolls, papaya salad, mango salad, vegetable tempura, fried rice with basil, fried rice, pineapple fried rice, Pad Thai, noodles with vegetables, every tofu dish, and green curry. Service - The staffs at every branch of Orchid house are really good and friendly. They attend you in no time and even give good suggestions. Service time is very reasonable and they do not make you wait too long for your food. Atmosphere - Setting up gardens is their USP I guess. Visit any of the branch and you will see amazing greenery everywhere. Apapa branch is my personal favorite as their garden is absolutely lovely. Ikeja is new addition to the list as their outside sitting is really good. Orchid house always makes my experience good. So have fun and feast on...
