Tilapia & tinz African Signature Restaurant — Restaurant in Ikeja

If I could give this place 0 stars I would - I do NOT recommend anyone ever going to tilapia and tinz . The manager is HORRIBLE . He insisted on being rude to a group of Government Executives who came from abroad to patronize . They literally all left without eating and went to another restaurant and his attitude was that of someone doing us a favor as if we did not have other choices . No one has to take terrible treatment !

There is No customer service specifically from the Owner . If you attempt to hold any type of group lunch or dinner - he will initially tell you all the right things to get you in but once you are there he will treat you like trash and switch everything he has initially said . He is also a liar - he told us there was another event to be held there in the evening and no one showed up- he said the place will be filled up .. the place was empty besides the group that we had over almost 30 ! The restaurant is empty on a Monday / Tuesday and that says a lot . We were there for several hours .

The Partial food order that was brought out was brought out correct yet the actual food was mediocre at best yet suitable for those who are hungry ! Please keep in mind there is No ability to be diverse with the food or accommodating for other continental guest ! The owner stated that what he served is their standard - which is a standard for nonsense !!

The owner saw USD and immediately thought we were fools ! Three hours of our evening waisted and it gave those coming to Nigeria for the first time a bad idea of restaraunt service in NG.

The wait staff were the Only decent people- who tried ! Yet due to the instruction of the owner treated us like trash !

Compared to my other experiences, I had a terrible experience today. Maybe they are constrained in handling weekend services. My family and I went in for takeout soups and small chops for lunch. We arrived at 1:15 PM and were supposed to be out in 40 minutes, according to the restaurant's estimate. However, our soups didn't come out until 2:50 PM, which was a wait of 1 hour and 35 minutes.

In the meantime, we also ordered small chops with turkey and chicken. When they arrived, only one of the soups was the correct portion; the others contained between half to three-quarters of what we expected. When I pointed this out, the staff claimed it was a normal portion until I clarified that this was not our first time ordering. They took the soups back without apologies and kept my husband, children, and me waiting while other customers occupied our seats.

Overall, I will not return to this restaurant nor recommend it due to poor customer service, a lack of management during rush hours, and indifferent staff and supervisors who did not seem concerned about providing a good experience for customers. I tried to get help from the supervisors—I assume the man and woman in casual attire were staff—but it didn’t improve the situation. I expressed our dissatisfaction and considered leaving without the soups since there was no communication about what was happening or how much longer we would have to wait. Came here because of the many positive reviews I read here. After my experience, I want to believe the reviews are paid for. Only the yam fries and sauce were tasty. The big cat fish I ordered, I couldn’t finish it because it was so tasteless. I never knew anyone could actually go wrong with grilled catfish. It was really bland. I called the person who served us and complained about the tastelessness. She told me to eat the upper part that that’s where the sauce was (most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard). Imagine buying a full plate of grilled catfish just to eat the upper part and abandon the lower part(for who?). Even the upper part she mentioned was still tasteless. Lol. I thought the first order was just a mistake so I decided to order crabs. The crabs were tasteless too!!! The crabs were cooked in some weird palm oil sauce and tasted just like the fish. BOTH FISH AND CRAB HAD THE SAME TASTE! Why? How? I just didn’t get it. Crab didn’t even taste like crab. Manager kept apologizing. Apologizing doesn’t help when it comes to a Restuarant. A customer is paying for food because they want to eat. It should at least be tasty especially when it’s not free or cheap. Well, I will never visit again. Bill was about 25k and I was hungry when I left there because I could barely eat anything. Still had to go to Jevenik to buy pounded yam and okra soup because of extreme hunger....
