I got to know of this restaurant from a popular person operating in the food space and I am very disappointed.
I visited your restaurant (Lagos) with my big sister. The experience began from the entrance. There was no security to direct the parking. I let myself through the gate and your security were seated pressing phones and no greeting. We opened the door to the restaurant and no one welcomed and or directed us to a table. Only one waiting staff was around. We were completely ignored for about 3mins until we said hello and he told us to seat anywhere we liked. We ordered for Butter Chicken and Naan Bread with Chicken Korma and white rice (which according to the menu presented was to be fried and garnished with sweet corn). The waiting staff clearly lacked knowledge about the menu and mumbled words when asked questions. What was being displayed (picture of the food) was different from what we were actually served. The Chicken Korma was golden brown, what we were served was white (please give me the story of different methods of preparation or ingredientsπ). The picture had a lot of chicken in it, but I could count the chicken we were served plus it was all buried under the abundant sauce. The naan bread was nothing to write home about. The butter chicken was 5/10 The rice we were served was just plain boiled/steamed white rice. No sight of sweet corn or fried as indicated in the menu. The quantity is also not commensurate with the price paid (Indian and Chinese restaurants are known for their generous servings of their main dishes). We asked how long it will take to prepare the food, we were told 10 to 15mins but we did not get our order till 30mins after. We complained to the waiting staff about the food but he tried to convince otherwise saying it is what we ordered. We insisted on seeing the manager or chef. The chef or manager came out and was arguing with us. He wasn't listening. He started making it seem like we were not familiar with Indian food. Well after much back and forth, he took back the white rice in an attempt to present it as described on their menu. We refused to eat the white rice. Picked out the chicken from both sauces, ate the dry naan, drank our wine and requested for the bill. The waiter came with the bill and told us they removed the cost of the rice (was that supposed to make us feel betterπ).
Ps: Dear Restaurant Owners, the picture of your food guides your customers in making a choice. If anything changes, let it reflect on the menu. Don't tell a customer that it is the same when it is clearly not.
Anyways my experience here wasn't pleasant and I am definitely not coming back. The standard will definitely vary when an Indian person or a popular celebrity or food blogger/critic...

The food: During my visit we had beans porridge and plantain peppersoup Oha soup Coconut rice and chicken Asun
I canβt believe Iβm saying this but OMO I loved the beans porridge! It tasted so so homemade, was well garnished with dry fish and pumpkin leaves (Ugwu), it reminded me of how I cook my beans. This took first position π
Next up for me was the Oha soup although we spent the first 3 mins arguing that it was Ogbonno cause it was a bit thick (erm blame it on the 1 hour of pictures taking cause well I be food blogger π) but after a taste opinions changed π I was shocked to learn that the chef isnβt Igbo cause the soup tasted like it was prepared by a full fledged Igbo person, so juicy.
Again all other meals tasted original, the Peppersoup spice level was okay and it wasnβt too light. For the coconut rice- I felt the coconut milk was a tad much but it could pass and the chicken on the side was well marinated and flavouredβ¦. E sweet. The asun was the least favourite for me cause well itβs asun π
For drinks we had whiskey sour which was just lovely, the whiskey wasnβt too punchy and I only felt the after taste. If you are a light head and love sweet cocktails then you should try this.
Overall it was an impressive visit and Iβll rate them a solid 8/10 If you are looking for homely Nigerian food then Iβll recommend these guys...
